Mistake by United, not by Pogba. Pogba is looking like an absolute star in the Serie A and is only going to develop at a quicker rate with consistent playing time. Scored another brace both outside the box against Udinese last night. Super talent

We couldn't do anymore. You have to earn your place. For us he is replaceable.

Pogba wanted to move on, maybe we should have played him more but in the end he wanted to leave. I was not happy at the time when we sold him because i knew he was a great young prospect and what he is doing now at Juventus is proving that, still only 19 i think so will improve heaps.

Didn't he leave as a free agent?

from what i've been reading:

we want 31 mil for mario from milan. too much, not happening. however, gazetta reporting we have dropped our demands to 23.5 mil over 6 years. milan apparently considering it. wouldn't be too surprised if there's some real movement towards the end of the window.

and also. sneijder may accept the inter pay cut. inter might say no to it. doesnt want to move to gala, and the bid isn't coming from england. inter may reject it due to people being annoyed at his behaviour. what a mess.

If Arsenal's interest in El Shaarawy is legit (Big big IF) then it could result in Milan being able to bid for Mario. Crazier things have happened.

It could happen, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch given this is the side that sold Ibra and Thiago to PSG.

yeah but both of those were in retrospect good business. got their monster wages off the bill + transfer kitty + helped their debts. el shaarawy is who they would have pencilled in to lead them into the next generation.

On a side note , is anyone else noticing the number of supposed "minimum fee release clauses" creeping into contracts with premier league players.

Demba Ba and Daime come to mind. Two relatively low fees for players needed by their teams. I know its common place with other leagues but what are peoples thoughts on these in the Premier league?

It's because both signed up on a free transfer. When there's no transfer fee involved the power is with the player/player's agent. Don't want to pay me this or allow me this clause? Well piss off then, I'll sign somewhere else. That's how negotiations generally go when you are a free agent. It's part of the same reason why you see big wages paid to player signed on a free (Michael Owen to Stoke excluded).

Gerrard is on Sky Sports Goals on Sunday, said he thought we were a defender and a #10/attacker away from getting back in the Champions League. Chris Kamara then asked "Wesley Sneijder?", Gerrard responded "He'll do! He’s a top player. He delivers at every major tournament. He’s done it in the CL for years. But we’ll have to see. He’ll have all kinds of options I’m sure. I’d love nothing better than to see him in a red shirt. If Brendan wants him of course.”

Very interesting.

Can't see Liverpool giving into his wage demands

That's it isn't it? It all depends on how big a cut Sneijder is willing to accept. Talk is he's got the offer on the table from Galatasaray (already a cut on his Inter wages), but is holding out for an offer from England. I guess we'll find out what he values more over the next week or so.

But if he wanted to lower his wage, wouldn't he be still at Inter?
Not to mention you'd think he'd rather stay at Inter rather than go to worse teams in Liverpool and Gala

Milan would be crazy to sell the little Pharoah. And I don't think Arsenal would pay anywhere near as much as Milan would want.

Rumour was there was a 30 million bid made for someone. Arsene is known to like El Shaarawy so it's just a little theory crafting. It could be a way to finance a move for Mario if they were crazy enough to do it.

I doubt Arsenal will buy anyone around that price though.

Has there ever been a bloke doing more to get himself the sack than Jose?

it's quite incredible isn't it? the only thing stopping him playing footsies with casillas is a red card.

would love to find out at the end of the season who jose HASN'T pissed off at madrid. list might be quite short.
