That was the argument 10 years ago but was drowned out by the xenophobic "It's killing the English game", "English players will be left behind", "the English national team will suffer" mantra of Pardew and Co.

and yes the presser is about the marca article and he's flat out denying that any of this stuff is true. funny that the clubs paper would print that without permission from somewhere but go go go perez. flat out refusing to answer anything to do with jose, doesn't back him or anything either.

A press conference only to deny certain rumours really smells like admitting it's true already, and now today Marca has published parts of WhatsApp conversations to confirm what they'd written is true.

Also, Marca is Real's newspaper (or the newspaper for the Real fans) but there is no unity within Real given the system of elections for the presidency. This looks like an attack on Perez, after yesterday's press conference looked like an attack from Perez on Marca.

I assume its so Palace can still use him for the rest of the season, their challenging for promotion and he's been an important player for them.

Apart from the manc game his form in the last 5 to 6 games has been pretty good. The ball across goal for Sturridge against Norwich was an absolute pearler. If he can play to his potential then we won't be in any hurry to sell him.

I'm of different view, now that he's showing that he can at best be decent (which is all he's ever gonna be), we should cash in now while people still think he can play a bit

Agree there, we will sell if we get a decent offer but there is no point selling for peanuts.
