Both of these.

And well done to Butland.
Turned down the move to a glamour club, presumably on far bigger wages, so that he could play football.

At £3m I'm surprised there's not a dozen premier league clubs in for him.

He's maybe not ready to start week in week out at premier league level but isn't far from it.

Still suspect Liverpool will get him with a view to keeping him at Birmingham before taking over from Reina next season.

Good to see the press, after two years of repeatedly slagging Balotelli and highlighting his misdemeanours are now bemoaning the fact that he's gone from the English game.

Lot of xenophobia about Mario's off field activities. I once heard him compared unfavourably to one English player (with court cases for hitting women, spitting at a taxi driver etc to his name) as a role model for his off field behaviour. Still I guess he does pick up a few parking tickets, and believe he might have even slept with a model or two in his time here so I guess the rage of the world is fair enough.

The rumours are that Courtois doesn't want to come back as he is very happy at Athletico and Madrid want to keep him. But we really need a back up keeper to replace Fatbull.
We don't need Courtois now though, not while Cech is still playing 90+ % of matches. He's better off at Atletico getting game time.

Turnbull is trash but he only plays half a dozen times a year so I guess we can get away with it haha.

Yeah Courtois is way too good to be backup. Wouldn't make sense regarding his development either. Maybe loaning him out to a PL side for 2 seasons would be the best but I guess you'll have to convince him to leave Atletico.

I can only see Courtois going to Atletico permanently if he's part of a deal for Falcao. I doubt we would even consider selling him otherwise. We can just keep loaning him so he can get experience.

wish more young players had that same attitude. i remember scott parker looking promising then he signed for chelsea and he just went flat and never got a game.
He kind of recovered in the end.

Fulham have made a 5m bid for Huddlestone. I'll miss him. He was part of that Arnesen project that was never to be, but two straight years of injury have meant that he's been overtaken in the squad. He'll be good for Fulham if given the chance.

However, if we sell him and actively try to keep Livermore I'll be livid.

Rodgers on Ince: "Looks a wee bit too complicated at this stage."
"If Tom stays at Blackpool it doesn't mean he will never come to Liverpool but it might be a difficult one in this window."

Apparently we've made a take it or leave it cash offer of £4m to Blackpool and they're holding out for a clear £6m (after our 35% sell on fee is taken out).

hope we get him.

samba flying to england to discuss personal terms with qpr
Reportedly wants the equivalent of his Anzhi salary (£100k per week) and a guarantee he'll be sold at a fixed price if QPR go down.

Fernandes seemingly willing to meet both conditions.
Mind you the second seems a bit redundant, after all how many more clubs would be daft enough to pay Samba that sort of money.

Doesn't surprise me at all tbh, I loved the guy but he's not worth anywhere near a 100K a week. In any case, if QPR go down it'll be entertaining to seem them trying to survive financially given most of their players don't have a relegation wage drop clause.

At what time will the interview with 'Arry through the car window occur? I'll have a crack at 8pm

A part of transfer deadline day that was sadly missed last August

Miss the "we woz in for him" quotes.

Agree, will do well elsewhere.
