Suarez has come out and said that his words were twisted in that interview and he was especially disappointed because he expects it in England, but not for it to happen in his native Uruguay. Apparently he is very happy and doesnt think about leaving.

So that is excellent news.

Oh and that shit literally made my day!!! :D

Classic case of backtracking if you ask me. Guy tends to get misinterpreted a lot.

Quotes from Suarez's close friend and international team mate Cavani basically confirming what I suggested before, that Suarez will give us another year and if we're not in the top 4 by the end of next season "then they will have a problem".

"Luis would love to play in the Champions League with Liverpool. But if he can't then a player of his quality needs to play for a club where he can."

"I know it meant a lot when Liverpool stood by him through some tough times and he has a lot of love for the club and their fans."

Also said that Suarez had been trying to convince him to come and play in the Premier League which I'm sure will please City and Chelsea.

What's more likely though. That Suarez would make those comments. Or that the media would twist his words to sell papers??

Hmm, I wonder.

Everything with Suarez is because the media lied.

Has Cavani misinterpreted what Suarez told him?

Surely people realize that footballers lie? I'm not saying he's staying or leaving but realistically what advantage does he gain by saying "I want to leave club X", ultimately it's his agent who determines where Suarez ends up.

I think you've got your wires crossed a bit here! Agents don't decide where players end up, they present options for their clients to choose from and once the player makes their choice the agent's job is to make that deal happen.

Obviously players lie, we've seen that in the past, but it would take a lot for a player to go beyond just toeing the party line as much as Suarez has to refute these rumours and reiterate how much he wants to stay at the club again and again. Every time new stories come out he's gone out of his way to knock them on the head when he could have just as easily said nothing.

Without doubt I think Suarez will leave eventually, but I've seen nothing of significance either from him or the club to suggest it will be this summer, regardless of the rumoured interest in him.
