Bit confused here. First we're told that Suarez' comments were insignificant and didn't tell us anything we didn't already know.

Now we're hearing that he's been misquoted and we should be celebrating his statement of commitment to Liverpool.

So if it wasn't significant in the first place why does the "fact" he's been misquoted mean anything.

Still, remember when Anelka used to be "misquoted" every time he went back to France. You'd think they'd learn by now.

It's only some Liverpool fans who truly believe he has been misquoted.

i dont think he ever claimed that sneijder was finalising move, but that he had met with liverpool reps and discussed a move. he did say that coutinho was going to liverpool instead of southampton.

i know to take every story with a pinch of salt, but i don't think that it's far fetched that juventus would be making a play for suarez, at the very least discussing with his representatives as well as liverpool reps about a possible transfer.

Yeah you're right it's definitely a strong possibility that they will have met, but there's been a whole raft of 'exclusives' Palmeri has had wrong in the last year or 2 (just looking at Liverpool related stories, he also claimed we had met with Gaston Ramirez in the summer when all the reliable UK based journalists were saying there was nothing in it) and it seemed like the only ones he got right were the ones already being widely reported by other sources.

I don't think it was him being misquoted, I think Suarez was just upset at the skew that was placed on the story (ie in his interview it was 99% positive about Liverpool and 1% 'I might think about leaving some day', and a lot of the articles that were written about it as you'd expect almost exclusively focused on the latter).

I agree though in a lot of cases he's gone back and done interviews in Uruguay and then hidden behind the 'misquote' defence, there were 1 or 2 interviews around the time when he wasn't allowed to publicly talk about the Evra case and he went and had a go at Ferguson, United and at the UK media, then claimed they'd got the translation wrong or something. It's a convenient alibi used by a lot of foreign players, I remember reading a Tevez interview where he called Mancini a dog or something and then backpedalled on his return to the UK and said that it was nothing and they'd misinterpreted him.

Why are we after strikers?

Have a strong feeling that either Rooney or Hernandez are leaving in the summer.
I doubt it tbh. Van Persie won't be leaving, Welbeck is born and bred Manchester and loves the club, Rooney wont go unless for something ridiculous like 50mil and Hernandez from all accounts seems happy

Rooney will stay at Man U for another 2 to 3 seasons then come home to Everton to finish his career.

When does Rooney's contact run out?
He will be happy to play at Everton for 60,000 a week.

He signed a 5-year contract in 2010, so it runs out in 2015. I think we are trying to get him a new deal and it'll be something like a 3-year deal.
I reckon he'll be here until he is 31-32, then maybe head back to Everton.

i still think there's a possibility jose will go to psg. probably 70/30 chelsea's way but jose didn't exactly leave under the most pleasant circumstances. he wont exactly forget how quick roman was to remove his most successful manager. if there is a chance of getting him, psg can really offer him something special too.

I really don't think the French league is big enough for him.

Roman and TSO are back in love according to Jose.

but it's the chance for him to win another league.

portugal, spain, england, france, italy. winning the league in 5 countries would almost be too good for moureen's ego to turn down.

Still rather young. Has plenty of time.

3 pieces of Arsenal related news - Stevan Jovetic seems to be gathering pace with interest from the player himself. We'll definitely be bringing in a forward with Bendtner, Chamakh and Ju - young park all leaving/unwanted.

Nathaniel Chalobah from Chelsea - Under 21 player doing very well on loan at Watford. Has been at Chelsea from a young age but with so many players in midfield to pick from could get very little playing time. Would suit Arsenal because he can play Midfield and CB if needed. With Squillaci, Djourou Denilson and probably Frimpong not making the cut, Chalobah would be in line to get first team playing time. Very very doubtful Chelsea would let him leave but who knows.

Younes Belhanda has been told he can leave Montpellier at the end of the season. Been scouted by Arsenal a few times. Does play a deeper midfield playmaker role, quick, good passer and dribbler but also has good defensive awareness. Would suit the role Arteta plays at Arsenal atm. Will be snapped up by one of the bigger teams next window.
