We've heard that for the last 5 years though. I honestly can't see anything changing until Stan the silent pisses off.

Mind you, Wenger hasn't been given an automatic renewal on his contract, so maybe this year he will just say '**** it' and spend big.

Agree that we've heard it all before. It actually makes me laugh everytime we hear stories about this supposed warchest of funds.

However it's not all Stan's fault. Wenger effectively controls the club and manages the purchases of players etc.

Gee wiz, imagine the reception he will get if Bayern and Dortmund meet in the final :o

Exactly. It really is incredible they've announced it now on the eve of the champions league semi finals. There is surely more to unfold on this story in the coming days/weeks.

Now we just need to move Robben out and maybe Gomez and I'll be happy. Wonder who else Pepe will want to buy. Neymar would have to be on the radar.

I guess no one knows, but if you look at any of the clubs Stan owns, they are either shite, on the downslide or just not progressing at all (see Arsenal).

We all knew we were going to have a very limited budget whilst paying off the stadium debt, and we can thank Stan for making it so we paid it off quickly, but really, why would someone like Stan be willing to part with a shitload of money when he has no emotional attachment to the sportsclub when he can instead just keep on pocketing millions. I really believe Wenger loves the club and wants it to succeed, and if someone gave him 70 mil to spend as he likes, he would just do it.

I thought the transfers last summer were fantastic. Cazorla is a freak, Podolski is clinical and one of our best players when not injured and whilst Giroud is limited he is the perfect back up to someone like an RVP and hopefully a Jovetic or Villa.

What Stan hasnt put any of his money into the club. In fact all he does is take 25,000 a year for being a board member. Bar that he doesnt take money out of club and doesn't put any in.

Anyway I expect we will buy this summer as we wont be worried about player departures which have killed us the last two seasons. However dont expect any 30m+ players cause we cant afford them or can afford them but there wont be anything left in our budget to strengthen other key areas.

If Wenger wanted the club to succeed we wouldn't be tropyhless since 2005.

And I hope Song continues to rot at Barca.

Bayern are quickly falling out of favour for me. If they get lewandowski as well will be the final straw. They're no better than these other billionaire clubs. I remember very recently rummenigge coming out saying that the sheiks are bad for the game but what Bayern is doing with the bundesliga is ever worse.

Bayern can do whatever they want with their own money. In the end it's up to the player to decide.

I also see nobody ever mentions Hummels being brought up in the youth system at Bayern and then going to Dortmund for a small price...

You mean they would be like Barca.

Huh? And how is this different to the way Barca have acquired players through their money?

I don't see barca poaching every real madrid player and vice versa. A soon as any player shows any glimpse of talent in bundesliga they get snapped up by Bayern straight away i.e kroos, mandukic and now the gotze. I wouldnt have a problem if they acquire these players from different leagues but they always go for their domestic competition. Might as well hand them the next years league title as well. Who's gonna be competing against them?!
Also u mention barca doing the same thing. I will mention Villa, Alves and Mascherano. Virtually every other key player in this barca team is from the academy so ur srgument doesn't stand. Do ur research before u talk.

What about Ribery, Robben, Toni, Boateng etc? Also Kroos was signed as a 17 year old....

The difference between Bayern and those sugardaddy clubs is though that the players probably aren't going there for money. and if Madrid had some quality youth that could be snapped up, I am sure Barca would be all over it

Ribery, Robben don't really have an issue with bc they went from a different league. It's Kroos, Gomez, Olic, Klose and many more which are bought from direct competition. Same principle for instance if Utd poached Gerrard, Terry and Lampard from their rival clubs. I won't deny that there's always player movement from second tier clubs in the league to the top teams that will always be the case in every league. But Bayern are snatching all the best players from pretty much the only clubs that can offer them some feeble resistance. How's that for the competition? When the league is over with however many games they got left?!?!
