french radio station rmc, who have a decent record, reporting that ronaldo's agent will meet with psg's president in the coming days.

And United.

What exactly is this Nike package? Surely Nike cant help United buy a player??

They offer Ronaldo incentives and pay United more for shirt rights which are currently being negotiated.

Make no mistake if PSG bid for Ronaldo so does United.

SAF has said before that the only player he would be willing to spend £80-90m on is Ronaldo.

Yes we won the title, but your always looking to strengthen the squad, you can't just think that what happened this season will happen again next season with the same group of players.

City did this season. Backs up your point superbly :p

Tancredi Palmeri:

Mourinho speaking in presser doing a balance of the 3 years of Real Madrid in Champions. It seems an end of term speech.

Mourinho: "Let's see if Madrid will win with or without me. If they will without, anyway I will be happy". More than this...

Mourinho:"I have a contract at Madrid. But contracts are broken when people wants. But I've respect for president. In England I'm loved by fans and medias, fairly criticized or credited when I deserve. In Spain some hates me,even in this room"

Sky Italia saying Fernandinho to City for £23m, anyone else heard anything about this? Sky Italia aren't always 100% reliable and I haven't seen anything from any UK-based journalists.

Seems unrealistic that United will spend 80-90 million on one player. SAF simply isnt that stupid. United just won the title. They dont even need Ronaldo.

They will if they are gunning for the ECL next season. Of course if its just the league and anything else is a bonus then you are correct but if the priority is the Champions League then they would be crazy not to go for him if they can get the funds and Madrid and Ronaldo are willing to deal.
It seems unlikely though

Its going to be interesting to see how UEFA would deal with a situation where a sponsor funds a purchase of a player.

Say Qatar Tourism buys Ronaldo for PSG, they get a huge boost in income without incurring any costs.

Nice one for FFP purposes.

I suppose they'll argue that Nike or Chevrolet are clearly independent of Manchester United and if it's done through increasing the overall value of their sponsorship arrangement (as opposed to a one off payment) then they'll say that having Ronaldo associated with the Manchester United (and consequently Nike/Chevrolet) brand will represent genuine market value for increasing their investment.

The Qatar Tourism one still seems a bit dodgy for me though. I don't know how they can get away with arguing that they are independent of the Qatari Investment Authority (other than through some very inventive loophole) as both are financed and managed by the country's sovereign wealth fund.

Okay so who are the most reliable sources on Twitter as well as websites and papers?

Any of the journalists associated with The Times tend to be very reliable with their information. I also follow a few journalists from the Liverpool Echo, 'North-West' correspondants for a few other papers and 1 or 2 reliable independent sources for information relating specifically to my club, I'd imagine you wouldn't have to look far to find something similar for Chelsea. When all/most of them are saying the same thing then you can generally assume that there's some substance to the rumour.

Thanks. I have my Chelsea sources but for general transfer talk my twitter feed seems to be filled with rumours only Statton Gun would believe.

di marzio based. very reliable.

Okay so who are the most reliable sources on Twitter as well as websites and papers? ADL9798 jod23 NFGKizza you guys seem to know

i usually listen to di marzio and a few others like tancredi palmeri, jan fjortoft and raphael hongstein. di marzio is usually the most reliable but the other 3 have gotten things correct before. for papers the times is pretty good.

Is there any news on Cavani's transfer? All the talk is about Falcao but he's better IMO.

Honigstein is great for anything Bundesliga related in particular. For La Liga rumours Guillem Balague seems to have a lot of connections in Spain.

i'm a big balague fan, love reading his stuff, but his rumours seem to be pretty hit or miss lately. been rather back and forth with the neymar stuff.

Yeah I've got the same issues with Palmeri, I used to follow him but the only ones he seemed to get right were the really obvious ones that everyone was picking.
