Lolz. Just ridiculous that United think this could happen. He is a very good manager who has managed at the top level for over a decade. He isnt suddenly going to drop down to being an assistant manager.

Well he would if it was a succession plan.

Why even post that? trying to get a rise out of me? You truly are a painful silly.

I was posting it to gauge people's ideas on whether he believes it or just saying it to endear himself to the United faithful
Bullshit, did he mention Arsenal paying his wage every week on time when he was injured. The same RVP you were sooking over as soon as he went off form a bit. Keep up the good work. :thumbsu:

News that SAF could announce his retirement next week, with Moyes tipped to be his successor.

Actually seems legit.

It can't be Moyes. Has to be Mou.

Fergie's always said that so long as he remained healthy he'd have no problem continuing, so perhaps this hip operation he's having and the fact he'll miss the start of next season has weighed into his thinking? We also know he has great admiration for Jose Mourinho who as it happens appears to be open to a move back to England. Obviously all just speculation at this point but the story is being run by every major news outlet in the UK so it must be coming from somewhere. As someone else has mentioned whoever takes over at Old Trafford has the most difficult job of any manager in the world, so if Fergie is leaving his replacement is going to have to be someone with a proven record at the highest level. Moyes has done reasonably well at Everton but I don't think he's at that level.

Make no mistake anything other then a Manager who knows how to win trophies is a loss for us.

You could argue that based on SAF record anyone but him is a huge loss. But I do hope it's Moyes though ;)

If Fergie retires, I tip a tumoltuous time down at the United camp for a few years to come...

I hope united go for Mourinho, going from the most stable and settled managers in recent history to the least can only end well ;).

Fergie will be back in the blink of an eye if the new manager ends up failing.

i can imagine him having the press conference, going home and sitting on the couch and being like 'now what do i do?'

by the next morning he has already forgotten he has resigned and he's back at training barking at ashley young or nani for wearing pink boots.

that probably happened in the early 90's

'we tried to fire him 5 times, he just came back the next day!'
