See Dempsey, Sigurdsson, Carroll, Shelvey, Sturridge, Suarez + reports that they've now jumped on the Eriksen bandwagon too. It's a running joke that they haven't had a scouting department going back to Redknapp's days where any time a player had a good game against Spurs, apparently he had been in for them at some point.

We've been linked in the past with Erikssen. I am positive there were stories in the last window.

Also the media links us to every striker in the world because it's easy to do as it is our biggest weakness. I wish they were right. You always see teams with similar ambitions with the same weakness linked to the same players regardless of the clubs interest in those actual players. Trust me, the last thing we want is to be anything like Liverpool.

Haha yeah I think you're right on that one. Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal all have similar ambitions and aren't competing with United, City and Chelsea for the players on the top shelf so it's not surprising they always appear to be going for the same players.

And why the hell would Rooney want to go to Arsenal? they haven't won anything in about 8 years, lost RVP to United, and right now, are well off the pace from the likes of United, Chelsea, City etc.

Rooney is a winner and loves the money, will get neither at Arsenal.

Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool certainly aren't competing for the same position.

Spurs and Arsenal want CL, Liverpool want Europe like Everton.

Meanwhile, players that Spurs and Liverpool go for tend to go lilywhite.

Rooney loves being the main man, at Arsenal he would be the main man. And you really think he cares that RvP went to United, if anything RvP would be telling him to go there.

Also were not as far away as you suggest.

Liverpool certainly want CL, whether they get it is another thing entirely. They've certainly got the financial muscle to compete on that level though.

I can only think of 2 targets (Dempsey and Sigurdsson) that have elected to join Spurs over Liverpool over the last few years, and to be honest looking at their performances this season I'm not too concerned about missing out on them, certainly not for the wages Spurs are paying them. I guess I'll have to settle with the likes of Sturridge and Suarez preferring to play in red.

God you Liverpool supporters are precious.

You seem to have a real problem with Liverpool mate, anytime one of us gives an opinion you get really upset. What's the matter? Liverpool supporting ex-girlfriend break your heart or something? You can private message me if you want, I'll help you through this and be your shoulder to cry on.

Really depends on what Rooney wants to be fair, I know from a managerial point of view RvP would be telling him to go.

Again why would RvP tell him to go to Arsenal?

That makes zero sense.

In case you haven't realised Arsenal haven't won a trophy in nearly 10 years. Wenger is on his last legs at the club.

For what reason would Rooney join Arsenal?

Were we ever really in for Sturridge?

I think thats probably the difference between the clubs most of the time, which club is only half-arsed in their approach for the player and who is really in for them, who wants the player more? With Sigurdsson and Dempsey you valued them higher than we did and were willing to go the extra mile with wages & transfer fees to complete the deal. Similarly with Suarez, Sturridge & Carroll (regrettably), we offered more money than you did to get our men and that was the difference at the end of the day.

One of RVPs reasons to join United would be to partner with Rooney, he would certainly not be telling him to leave, that's total nonsense.

Did you not read my reply to supercats? Come next year the gap between Arsenal and yourselves will be a lot smaller and city will be where you are now. How close we are to you depends on if we get champions league or not.

I also dont think you realise how much Arsene did for RvP, if we are interested and Rooney doesnt want to leave England then we are very realistic option. However I do doubt we are interested enough to get Rooney here and nor do I want him (prefer others).

Saying it how I see it. You're all a bunch of biased pansies.

You think Ferguson would allow Rooney to go to Arsenal? Not even when he isn't the manager he wouldn't

He is not Wenger, not a chance of it happening.

Really doesn't matter what Ferguson wants its what Rooney wants. Players control their contracts and if they want out they find a way to get out, just look at RvP. And If Rooney does want out then United have to let him go as your not going to let a someone on 250k plus to sit on the bench.

I dont even want Rooney but the United supporting fans on here need to realise that unless Rooney decides to stay then he will be sold, which signs at this stage point towards him leaving. He could end up at any club and if he doesn't want to leave England then he will end up at English club.

Unlike Aresenal we spend.

I see no reason why Arsenal become our equal.

United aren't going to **** about. We are going to spend and still be fighting for all trophies on offer.

You don't make up the gap because we change our manager.

We have no problem with him being sold. But he won't be sold for cheap. And if a rival wants him then they pay extra.

He has 2years left on his contract. He can hardly dictate terms.

Half your squad will be either past it or retired in the next two years, and from i've seen you have very few coming up. Sure you may buy a few players but how many are going to come to work with Moyes? Sure you will still buy quality players but you may miss out on a few for that reason. And Moyes doesnt have the best track record when it comes to buying expensive players (Everton expensive that is).

Having two years left in most cases would make it harder for the player dicate terms but when your on a lot $$ then you can.
