Heard that too, I'm still not convinced we'll be getting over £15m for Carroll but a deal with West Ham looks like being sealed sooner rather than later. The Papadopoulos rumours make sense, we're in the market for a CB or 2 and at 21 years of age he fits the clubs youth policy. From the sounds of things several clubs are after him so I'll be interested to see how it unfolds. Hopefully there's some substance to it because he's up there with Nastasic and Varane as one of the best up and coming CB's in the world.

Yep, sadly looks like the Hammers got the jump on this one - reckon the Liverpool hierarchy would rather sell to them than us anyway!

Probably not a popular opinion, but I'd rather have Carroll over Rooney - cheaper, younger, local boy and childhood fan not to mention more of a realistic target anyway.

heard the rumors of jedinak to stoke?

Hope that isn't true - I don't have a reason to like Stoke at the moment and don't want one!

Would surely get more game time at Palace anyway - hope they come up regardless.

Did anyone see that Remy was arrested last night on suspicion of rape?

Reckon that will put a few clubs off signing him until that matter has been resolved - wouldn't want to sign him and then find out he had to do a stint in prison.

Sports Direct have pulled that article and issued an apology for making it up. Publicity stunt to get more hits if anything.

That's good to know - rumours like this just make us sound ridiculous haha.

Yeah, I suspected that's what they might have been doing - generating a lot of interest to get more hits. Pretty shameless stuff.

Tough luck. A promise is a promise.

That's the arrogance of Reals president.

it doesn't always work out

laporta 'promised' barca they would get beckham basically so that he would win presidency at the club.

perez is trying to retain presidency.

Yeah figured it had to do with election, but amazed at how a specific big name signing is an election promise.

Politicians can barely keep their regular promises that they control

Out of the teams relegated which players are likely to transfer to quality clubs?

From Wigan:
Callum McManaman and James McCarthy may get picked up. Arouna Kone has also proven himself at European level in the past with PSV and Sevilla, he might be looked at.

From Reading:
Alex McCarthy to become someone's backup keeper would be the only one I would've thought.

From QPR:
Apart from Julio Cesar and Adel Taraabt they all deserve to spend a season in the Championship.

Samba will also go to a better club you'd think
Samba will just go to whoever offers him the most money. Probably buck to Russia.

I'll be worried if Chelsea get Cavani, building a very competitive squad they are.

Gone about quiet on Cavani from our side so I'm guessing we're no longer in the running. Big shame as I can see us losing Tevez and Dzeko and it leaves us very light on up front.

Manuel Pellegrini has handed Manchester City a five-man shortlist of transfer targets after agreeing a two-year contract at the Etihad. Malaga star Isco has already agreed to follow the Chilean to City at the end of the season, while Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria, Seville stars Jesus Navas and Geoffrey Kondogbia and Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus are all targets.

I would be really excited about this as he would be perfect in front of Mazascar, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up just yet.

I thought Navas wouldn't leave Spain? Very good player he is.

Would like McManaman back at Everton!

From QPR there was a lot of interest last season in Hoilett, you would think a year on he would still have plenty of clubs keen on him.

If you lose those two Pelegrini (yes, I'm assuming) will obviously bring someone in. Not sure how much power the technical directors and the likes have with transfers but regardless of their power the new manager would need to have some input. There's still a while to go before transfers will happen so I wouldn't worry too much about Cavani. There's really little difference between City and Chelsea from a players perspective (attraction) I suppose you could say living in London but you might just dispute that....

And with Dzeko surely if the new manager comes in promises he'll be first choice/play more that could change things. And who knows with Tevez.....

City's priority should be more quality in wide positions. You don't have a game breaking winner which is why Robben would be such a good, necessary signing....
