"Tottenham are ready to launch a 36 million pound double bid to sign 27 year old strike Valencia striker Robert Saldonado and forward Leandro Damiao, 23, from Brazillian club Internacional."
(The Express)

Wouldnt be adverse to this at all. Would probably prefer Benteke as a striker but Saldonado is a proven goal scorer.

Also reported we are interested in Wigan star James McCarthy who was a star in their rise this season. 15million pounds is the rumoured fee being asked (Daily Mirror)

Isn't it Roberto Soldado?

On-field culture is what matters
And what if the most talented list had won 1 premiership in a span of five years - wouldn't more professional off field behaviour potentially contribute to more on field success. I would've thought complete professionalism of the field and commitment would be helpful on field. But my bad I suppose.

Here we go!!!
David Moyes wants Manchester United to push the boat out for Real Madrid playmaker Luka Modric.
The Daily Star Sunday says that could put the new United boss in direct competition for Modric with Jose Mourinho if – as expected – the Special One returns to Chelsea.
Former Spurs star Modric was a target for Moyes’ predecessor, Sir Alex Ferguson, and also Chelsea before moving to Real Madrid for £33million last summer.
And the feeling remains that United need a playmaker of Modric’s class if they are to succeed in the Champions League.
Moyes is now weighing up a move for the Croatia midfielder but the new United boss may find Real reluctant to do business

I think that's the case, and I can't blame him! Our only hope of signing him is if Dortmund for whatever reason drop their interest in favour of another player but they seem to have committed to him.

There's no way Ajax wouldn't play him if he stayed, he's their best player and has gone on record to say if he can't arrange a satisfactory move this summer, then he would sign a new contract with the club so they don't lose him for nothing next year. He's not looking to screw the club over so they have no reason to screw him over.

The fact that he has 1 year on his contract would definitely diminish his value but I thought there would have been more clubs interested in him given his ability - particularly if he's going to be available for as little as is being suggested. To date only Liverpool and Dortmund have approached Ajax formally which I find bizarre.
I think what plays in our favour right now is BVB's inability to keep their top players. Gotze and Lew are off. Doesnt look like the place to be. They can offer CL football though so that will hinder us.

kolo has signed for liverpool

best of luck to the big man.
Yep, it's on our official website.

I dont hate the signing, it's free and he comes with experience and leadership qualities. Where he will get a game though will be interesting. Question marks still remain over whether or not Skrtel and Coates will be Liverpool players next season and obviously we are still after a young world class CB to fill the Carragher void, namely Papa.

We all know BR dropped Skrtel for Carragher in the middle of the season because he thought the backline lacked leadership. Carragher came in and did a fine job for the last half of the season. So with him retiring, our backline will be the exact same as it was with Johnson, Enrique and Agger. So I assume BR still thinks we lack leadership there. Toure has a ton of experience and leadership qualities but if Papa is signed, we must play him. Obviously there will be chances in the cups but I cant see Toure starting a lot of league games.

I guess it depends if we get Papa or not.

Kolo, Kolo Kolo, Kolo Kolo, Kolo Kolo Toure is a decent signing for them on a freebie.

Still think Lescott will be off which leaves means a couple of defensive signings to come I guess.

Millwall midfielder Chris Taylor, Pompey GK Eastwood and Notts County midfielder Alan Judge all confirmed to be joining Blackburn.

Thoughts mcuzzy?

Not sure about Eastwood, don't think we need him, Usai did a good job and i think we have 4 or 5 goalkeepers now. But whatever, could be replacing Kean if he leaves.

Very happy to have Judge back though and also very happy with Taylor signing, I think they're both very good players and in the top few at their club. just hope Judge does well at this level.

We need to clear our the scraps pretty badly though.

Also Rhodes has been rumoured to be moving to Hull so very worried, even if it is just a rumour. hope they go for Austin instead

If Rhodes stays? Possible push for promotion? Are Judge and and Taylor good enough in midfield?

I think (hope for his sake) that this is a parody account.

Just heard the news about Yaya Toure, one of the best box to box midfielders in europe, we can be title contenders next season #LFC #YNWA

Liverpool Union ‏@LiverpoolUnion 1h
Yaya, Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Allen and Shelvey, it's going to be impossible to pick our midfield next season! #LFC

Liverpool Union ‏@LiverpoolUnion 1h
Not sure we need him now we've got Yaya but he's always welcome home RT "@krisdann What about Alonso?"

Liverpool Union ‏@LiverpoolUnion 1h
Who's Kolo? apparently we signed him aswell?

Liverpool Union ‏@LiverpoolUnion 1h
Kolo Toure and Yaya Toure, we could have the best defence and midfield in the league next season, possible Europe! #LFC #TitleNumber19

I'd rather have Yaya on a free transfer than pay £12million for Alonso, outstanding business by Rodgers #LFC

:D

Gotta be a parody account. 2 year deal is alright, takes him to 34 and near on retirement. Not sure how much of a role he will play for us next season.

moomba did he play a lot for City last season. I know VK had his injury troubles and Lescott was out of favour and the emergence of Nastasic. I didnt see Kolo play once last season, ive obviously seen him plenty over the years but not recently. How did he play?

I'd love to see Liverpool supporters doing the 'Kolo' half and City supporters doing the 'Yaya' half of the Kolo-Yaya Toure song next time we play each other.
