Pizarro, Gomez, Mandzukic are the 3 forwards. Muller sometimes plays as a deeper forward.

Mandzukic wont be leaving as he was only signed last year, Pizarro is 34 and Gomez has scored something like 80 goals in 120 games for Bayern.

Lewandowski is Pizarro's replacement.

You think Gomez is happy being 2nd let alone 3rd choice?

They broke the German transfer record to sign him

He played 31 games this season despite missing 3 months through surgery.

He's played 31,52,45,45 games in the last four seasons for Bayern. When fit he's Bayern's and Germany's first choice.

Lewandowski and Mandzukic will be fighting for 2nd and 3rd.

If Rhodes stays? Possible push for promotion? Are Judge and and Taylor good enough in midfield?

The problem is theres still a lot of dead wood in the side, I suspect we'll have to undertake a rebuild of sorts to be anywhere near the promotion places. Guys like Judge and Taylor are solid additions, but lack the creativity, technical ability and quality we saw in the promoted sides this season.

Rhodes won't be leaving though, contracted until 2017 and originally bought for 8 mill, unless Hull can pull 12-15 mill out of their arse they'll go in for Austin, who's contract expires at the end of this coming season.

Also have to disagree with you about Usai mcuzzy, I'm not a fan and I suspect he'll be released when his contract comes to an end.

He's been fit for over 6 months. Every CL knockout game Mandzukic started other than Barca 1st leg when he was suspended. Gomez can score, but that's all he can do. Mandzukic is a much better fit for the team.

Mandzukic's probably has the best work rate of all strikers in the world. When he has come up against Pirlo and others they have been very quite compared to their normal output. It will be a shame to see him dropped if that is what pep decides to do.

o_O That's what he's paid to do. He would easily be pushing the top 5 forwards in the world. Would start for ANY TEAM.

Mandzukic had a good season no doubt, but only scored 4 more league goals than Gomez.
In Europe this, Mandzukic was 10/3 with Gomez 7/2. Gomez scored 13 goals in 14 games in last years Champions league, and 8 goals in 8 the year before that.

He's going to need to do more than have one good season to dislodge a guy that's scored 97 goals in the last 3 season.

Why do you think Bayern has been so dominant this season? Mandzukic brings other players into the game. Gomez is clumsy and other than scoring easy goals doesn't do anything. Bayern don't need a brilliant striker because their midfield/wingers are the best in the world by a mile but they need somebody who can hold the ball up and give them the ball. Gomez can't do this.

Lewandowski is a mixture of Gomez and Mandzukic which is why Bayern wants him. He can hold the ball up and score just as many goals as Gomez.

I'll trade you Gomez clumsy for Gervinho clumsy.

We are just going to have to agree to disagree on this.

Redalert i haven't seen usai play since he was in the a-league, i'm basically just going by reports and what other fans have said on forums, sounded like he was a worthy backup keeper

I haven't seen much of him either, but given he's 23 and hasn't had a single league appearance at any level I don't seem him as having a future at the club. We've still got Robbo and Kean on our books, both of which are quality keepers.

balague saying on revista that if we meet thiago's buyout that we have a 'very good chance of convincing him'

bit giddy now.

graham hunter also said we'd offered 30 mil for navas (euro's i presume) so idk what to believe. the thought of us paying 30 mil for a late 20's winger with well documented homesickness issues is laughable.

New quotes from Eriksen today. I had just accepted that you were going to Dortmund, stop toying with me you bastard.
"I also said before, Dortmund is one of the options that will be really good for me. But it is not the only option. It's clubs at that level or thereabouts that I will consider."

He is then asked if he has read Agger's comments (about wanting Eriksen to join him at Liverpool) and what he thinks of Liverpool's interest.
"I have read that and Liverpool is definitely an option. It is one of the clubs that's on a higher level than Ajax, it's a different league and a different caliber. It would be very exciting (to join Liverpool). If an offer comes, I'll have to look at it."

And there's this from Marc Overmars yesterday:
"The press have made up some stories but there has been no bid from Dortmund for Eriksen."
