Yeah apparently we have reached an agreement and he will fly to Liverpool after this weekend to put pen to paper.

Not exactly the statement signing I was after. Never even heard of him and his 12 in 33 doesnt speak volumes in a relegated side, or close to it, depending on weekend results.

Rumours are we only have 20 million to spend so if thats 7 on him, we can probably rule out signing Eriksen. We really need a big signing though but im beginning to think that with how well Coutinho has gone, we might not even be interested in Eriksen anymore.

Aspas is an interesting one, hadn't heard much about him but looking at a few of his match compilations on YouTube he looks like a poor mans Suarez. He's a fiery little attacker who can play anywhere across the front 3, he's quite skillful and doesn't have a bad record in front of goals for a striker in a side that's on the verge of relegation. He scored 25 goals in 2011/12 as they chased promotion so it'll be interesting to see how he goes at a side like Liverpool where far more scoring chances are created. Wouldn't have thought he'll be a purchase for the 1st XI but he'll be another striking option to complement Suarez, Sturridge & Borini.

I wouldn't worry too much about what the papers speculate our budget might be. They've said we'd only have £20m to spend every season under FSG and the last 2 seasons we've gone out and spent £40m net. Rodgers says there's no exact figure, he'll be backed to sign the players he thinks the club needs to make the top 4 this season and I'm inclined to believe him. Remember we're also going to have at least £25-30m in player sales to add to the budget as well.
