suarez still has a contract until 2018. he's not the one with the power here.

I can see his onfield antics now if he is forced to stay.

I don't understand why you think athletic ability should come into a players valuation. If he's a world class footballer then he's a world class footballer, regardless of body shape (it doesn't matter how you score or assist goals, so long as the ball is still going in the back of the net it doesn't matter if it's from 20m out or after dribbling past 2 players and passing it into the bottom corner). Does the fact that Ronaldo is 6ft and has a fantastic physique mean he's worth more than Messi who by comparison is essentially a dwarf?

Suarez's 2012/13 season in addition to his incredible scoring record with Ajax has (like Bale) propelled him into being one of the top 10 players in world football based on form at the moment. We're in the fortunate position that he willingly signed an extension until 2018 earlier this season, so regardless of whether he wants to leave or not we're under no pressure to sell him (like Tottenham with Modric a few years ago). They'll continue rejecting bids until their valuation of 50m (as reported by Liverpool Echo, The Times & The Guardian) is met, and with an election coming up at Madrid I'm sure Perez will be happy to meet that valuation if it means he gets his man.

It's because he's one of a number of prolific goal scoring strikers in world football. Amongst Lewandowski, Gomez, Villa, RVP, Rooney, Ibrahimovic, Aguero, Falcao etc.

All would be very expensive, probably upwards of 30m, but they're all very similar.

A player like Bale will eventually go for a massive amount because of the way he runs the match out, bullies opponents whilst having the ball and has a heap of power behind his shots.

Just a unique thing which Bale and Ronaldo have.

Top clubs are working their way down the list and will eventually get to Suarez... Cavani, Falcao, Neymar, Bale are all ahead of him so he's gotta wait like Rooney I guess.

Been very quiet on Rooney.

Top clubs don't seem that interested.

So he's got a 6-pack and he kicks the ball hard? That's it? If anything history tells us that those types of players who rely on athleticism and power inevitably drop away at a far younger age than those players who rely on creativity, skill and intelligence. If we look through a list of the best 20 players in the world, there would be more who fit the mould of the latter than the former. Speed and strength (while being very useful qualities to have) are no more important than a number of other attributes these top level attackers may possess.

Statistically this season there's been little to separate Bale & Suarez, certainly nothing to suggest Bale would be worth £20-30m more as has been proposed here. If anything Suarez has arguably been slightly better if we look at the main performance indicators like goals, assists, key passes, chances created and dribbles completed. It just comes down to personal preference as to whose playing style you like more. At the end of the day though, a manager isn't going to care anywhere near as much about how an attacker score goals as opposed to how many they score.

No they aren't, there's Messi, then there's Ronaldo/ Ibra then in the next group of players there's Suarez/Bale etc.
