Aston Villa.

As for Chelsea - stuck up for them in the Mourinho era because of the sometimes unsubstantiated hate some had towards them and their players. Also liked a lot of their players from that time. (Carvalho, Makelele, Lampard, Tiago, Robben, Crespo, Duff)
Supported them in the Champions League and preferred they won the title to the other contenders. Never a second team, never will have a second team. Don't believe in that, as much as some like to claim I'm a Chelsea fan.

Have no preference for Chelsea these days in any form and probably prefer Tottenham and Arsenal - if we're talking teams in comparable positions. Don't dislike Man City either.

As for Liverpool - it's not the club (although under Dalglish it was) it's the fans. As a club in the Benitez era - or even now I have nothing against Liverpool. (Suarez removed)
Just can't fathom some of the deluded rubbish (in volume and level to other clubs) that some of the Liverpool fans contrive to believe.
Never a second team? Throughout the years on BF, you have consistently jerked off over Chelsea. It's why ive never respected anything you say.

You're not supposed to have second teams, Aston Villa suck so you liked to jump on Chelsea cos they were winning things.

****.

fair call falcao.... when I think of henry I immeadiately think of the 3 games he played for monaco.
did he play for anyone else?

definitely not about money.

so sick of these footballers.

Cant wait for the day that a footballer comes out and says i moved to this club because they offered me the greater wages.

You may as well just neck yourself now. It's never going to happen.

The Guardian is reporting that Liverpool are about to make a £22m bid for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan (25 goals & 10 assists in 28 games from midfield for them this season). We've been monitoring him for months and while my personal preference is for Eriksen for that #10 role by all accounts this guy is just as good.

They're also reporting that we're about to make a 2nd bid for Papadopoulos. Schalke want £19m but with his injury record we're trying to take a few million off the price. I'd imagine that we'll meet somewhere around the £16m mark.

They must be 2 of the longest and most complicated surnames in football. It'll cost a fortune to get either of them printed on the back of a kit!

Wanyama apparently wants to play for Arsenal next season.

--

Victor Wanyama footballing mentor has revealed that the Celtic midfielder has set his heart on joining Arsenal this summer.

Jean-Marie Abeels reared the £10million midfielder at his JMJ Youth Academy on the outskirts of Nairobi and is in weekly contact with his parents.

And the Belgian coach claims Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has already made overtures concerning Wanyama — and that the player wants to go.

Linked with the Gunners, Manchester United, Manchester City, Stoke, Southampton, Newcastle and Fulham, Wanyama looks increasingly likely to trigger a Premiership auction in the coming weeks.

And Abeels claims Arsenal will be at the front of the queue, telling Sportsmail: ‘Victor’s father Noah calls me almost every week and he tells me Arsenal’s interest is big.

‘Wenger spoke to Celtic around a month ago and Victor’s father and his mother Mildred says he would prefer to go there before any other club.

‘I will be speaking to his parents again in a week’s time and Victor also. But I already know that Arsenal have a big interest in the player.

‘Everything can change in a minute. It takes just one phonecall.

‘It’s all a bit of a show at the moment. It’s all a game. It’s all about money.

‘But Victor wants to go to a club where he will play.

Got nothing on Blaszczykowski.

Mkhitaryan is an absolute star. Although he does look like he should be on the next series of Beauty and the Geek.

been linked to the first guy for months

is the guardian usually reliable?

Yes.

From the sounds of things we named him and Eriksen as our 2 targets for filling that #10 position way back in November and scouted them both heavily over the following months. Despite Eriksen's recent interviews where he's said he'd be happy to join Liverpool and had no preference for either us or Dortmund I think it's pretty clear he'll be at Dortmund next season. Good to see we're not waiting around for him to make his mind up and have acted decisively with Mkhitaryan.

plays a bit like Hazard. But 20m seems hefty.
Eriksen would have been only 12m.

Eriksen only has 1 year left on his contract, Mkhitaryan has 2. That's the only reason Eriksen is available at a lower price. In any case I've got no doubt Eriksen will go for more than that, there's no way Ajax would accept 12m for him.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, if he's set on going to Dortmund there isn't a lot Liverpool can do but I can't understand why he would come out with these quotes (in his 2 most recent interviews) indicating he'd be equally happy with a move to Liverpool if there wasn't something in it. Perhaps making an offer for Mkhitaryan is Liverpool's way of saying 'make a decision or we'll happily take this guy'.

Who knows, there's so much smoke and mirrors around transfer windows it's impossible to interpret at times.
