Bit of a transfer update:

Liverpool want Mignolet

Cavani's mother says it's between Real Madrid and City (no idea why anyone would ask her)

Barcelona want Torres to be a super sub to replace David Villa on the basis he leaves

Aston Villa have completed the signings of Jores Okore and Leandro Bacuna

Monaco want Cabaye

AC Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani has refused to rule out the sale of Stephan El Shaarawy. His agent has refuted that saying he is happy in Milan and doesn't want to move

Don't think Cavanis mum has much idea about whats going on as she also said Chelsea hasn't got any concrete interest yet we are the only club that's been bidding for him.

Torres to Barca isn't going away, this would be amazing if it happens.

I can't see how Torres would possibly want to do that in a WC year. What little chance he has of securing his spot would disappear instantly if that deal went through.

Confirmed as a hoax. It was posted on twitter by a fake ITK account called @MelwoodLFC yesterday and it made The Mirror. The group of guys running the account wanted to show how useless a few of the newspapers were when it came to researching their info.

So what happens when Chelsea buy a striker(fair chance it will be Cavani), recall Lukaku(which is apparently happening) and add Schurrle to our squad(which has happened) ?

He would be way better off going to barca and being Messis backup and a super sub on the bench.

Rubbish, he'd be better off at Napoli than being a super sub at Barca (and i use the word 'super' very loosely). If he genuinely has any ambition to play at Brazil next year he wont be at chelsea or barca next season. He should be looking to go somewhere where he can obtain regular first team football.

Agree, he needs to go somewhere he can be the number one strikers.

The point of my post was that he'd be better off at Barca than Chelsea.

Yeah because Dortmund haven't sold just sold Gotez to Bayern

Yeah good on them for not selling Lewandowski to Bayern and having him leave on a free and going to Bayern anyway! That'll show em!

Lewandowski has Dortmund bent over here. Not the other way around.

You realise that Dortmund had no choice with Gotze? Bayern paid the buy-out.

It's so key for Milan to keep El Shaarawy, their stocks in world football have fallen and he and Balotelli present a way back for them.

Considering he's free I'm not fussed. I think for the standard we'll be playing at - trying to beat teams around us - he'll do his job. He's also been told he has to move to Hull which suggests he'll be on a long term deal - our owners have said all new signings on long term deals need to move to the area to show their commitment to the club - so good to see he's going along with that, suggests he's really keen to come.

All in all looks to be a decent get for us and will hopefully set off a couple of signings as players start to get a sense of the squad we're building.

Good get for you guys - proven track record and brings vital experience not only from playing in the EPL but for a team that flirted with relegation a few times.

Saw you guys were looking at Schwarzer too, would be a good get IMO given his huge amount of prem experience and his reasonable form last season.

You're forgetting the massive Barcelona bias in the Spain NT selections. He'd have a better chance of playing in Brazil next year as a bench-warmer for Barcelona than as a regular starter at Napoli.
I think you are overstating that bias. Barcelona players are picked because they are genuinely great players.

apparently the hold up with pellegrini is some sort of contractual problem with malaga. he hasn't been paid for 2 months, if it reaches 3 we don't have to pay malaga any compensation and he can walk for free.

he and his players have gone through stages of not being paid also during this new malaga era, and now players are scampering. many only stayed because of pellegrini. isco will leave, joaquin has, eliseu will, toulalan, baptista, demichellis all on their way out too. wonder if we could sneak camacho out of there with pellegrini too.

That's pretty average from Malaga. I know footballers are for the most part overpaid but if my employer hadn't paid me for two months there would be some legal proceedings happening.

Will Malaga face any punishment for this?

yes. it's part of why they've been banned from europe next season. they haven't paid wages, transfer fees, and pellegrini on more than one occasion took it on the chin, didn't get paid for a few months and still managed them, when he would've been fine to just walk out on the club.

it should be noted this punishment has nothing to do with ffp, they would've been punished regardless due to not paying their fees.

Hull City are going to make another offer for Gary Hooper after having an offer for 4mil rejected.

Apparently we are in for Matthew Upson (please no)

Real Madrid are keen on Isco

Mark Hughes is chasing David Bentley

Zidane wants him to be RM's first signing apparently.

i dont think isco will go to madrid

the combination of pellegrini + much less chance of getting lost in the system with us. pellegrini would give him game time, no doubts about that. where does isco play in a front 3 of (currently) ronaldo/ozil/di maria with regular occurrence?

wow didn't realise it was old news, only saw it on a newcastle facebook page yesterday haha (as we were linked to him in January). Hope we make some moves soon...

He may prefer to stay in Spain(this is just a guess) and when RM or Barca come knocking it's very hard for a Spaniard to say no.

Could put any spin on that you want.

Does he want to leave sunny Spain for Madrid? Playing along the likes of Ronaldo etc.

While I dont disagree with what you have said, there are two sides to that coin
