Victor Wanyama has confirmed that Celtic have agreed a fee with Southampton for his transfer.

“I am on holiday, I am only hearing this from the media but I can say the deal is far from being complete. Yes, my club has agreed terms with Southampton, but I will also have to agree to terms before I consider myself a Saint."

Really good get for Southampton if the deal goes through but sounds to me like he is hoping for a bigger club.

if he had signed for madrid it would most definitely be in papers other than madrid papers that are notorious for saying anything to make real look the dogs bollocks. malaga journalists have been saying he's off to city, guys like graham hunter say he's off to city, respected spanish papers are saying he's off to city (El Confidencial).

isco has played under pellegrini, has nothing but praise for him, would get much more playing time with us and still be surrounded with a strong spanish contingent. madrid dont even have a manager yet.

To be fair it doesn't take long for the flapping to start around this time of year. I reckon every one of our bigger transfers in recent years has been reported to be going elsewhere in the days before the deal was done.

Nothing against Man City, but Real Madrid would be hard to turn down for a Spanish player, even if what you have said above is all true. It is potentially a once in a lifetime opportunity for him, and he would get to stay in his home country. So there are arguments both ways.

You can't have Reina and Mignolet together, coz either Reina plays and you're gonna make a new keeper sit on the bench for a year when at his age he should be playing every game. Or you're gonna stick Reina on the pine and decrease his value

Pepe will be gone this window
Obviously mignolet will be no1.

Reina is on 110k pweek. Just not worth it

Not that I'm a fan of City, but it'd be good to see him in the prem week in week out.

According to El Confidencial, Isco was almost certain to join City before Real Madrid made a big play and closed the still unconfirmed deal.

El Confidencial says Pellegrini is upset as he believes Real intruded into City's negotiation. City/Real supposed to have a friendship pact.

sigh. el confidencial is a very respected paper, not the usual wumming from marca/as it seems. this sucks.

Suddenly we have a stream of options in the front 4, when this time last season we had to start kids out wide (who turned out to be good anyway)

Still need another striker if Suarez goes though, unless they're comfortable with Sturridge Aspas and Borini, which I ain't comfortable with

Biggest area is still the back 4, there's no point playing pretty football if we keep defending at a conference level

Would be a tragic waste of a good song if he does go there.

I do rate him, and would certainly like him to come to City but I don't think it would be that big a disaster for us.

City really shot themselves in the foot by offering less than the players worth. Hardly tempting to choose a smaller club who don't value you as highly.

As far as I know we haven't had a bid accepted yet, but have been given permission to talk to Isco by Malaga.

Still after all the criticism for overpaying for players, it's nice to be criticised for trying not to do that. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

If Spurs get Paulinho it would be fantastic, great get.
