City's loss was made principally by buying players to make Roberto Mancini's squad strong enough to top the Premier League, and paying wages beyond the club's own turnover.

a 2011 article is not at all relevant to 2013. how about the article about how we halved our losses last season? or the article that shows that we're the fastest growing club in terms of income in the top 20 money league?

please show me how we're being 'stunted' by ffp.

I think Isco is already able to dominate in the league and is one of the best Spanish players. Lucky for him a top club came in who will match what his potential can deliver. Him and Ozil will be guns in attack for a long time.

Anyone who knows anything about FFP (ie not typeclub) would know that a) you can make losses under FFP and b) the impact of FFP of signing any one player is minimal due to amortisation.

Still, its not June and we've bought Fernandinho and Navas. I'd say we spent more than anyone in England at this early stage of the summer and most in Europe. Hardly being stunted there are we?

Its relevant because that year was the last one before FFP came in. They will examine 3 years prior to 2014-2015. Chelsea spent big in that window too, most they spent since 2004.

As you say since FFP has come into play City suddenly no longer operate at the same losses.

As you say since FFP has come into play City suddenly no longer operate at the same losses.

The first monitoring period is two years. Spending in 10/11 and before doesnt count toward any FFP calculations and wages of players signed before then are specifically excluded from FFP calculations.

Our losses have come down mainly because our income has gone up, not that we've cut costs. If anything FFP coming in made us speed up our spending, this has been acknowledged by the people in charge of the club.

Yep, you guys are but according to Napoli it was nowhere near enough. 63 million euro or GTFO they said.

Napoli president De Laurentiis: "No need of a face-to-face meeting as Cavani asked. There is a release clause" in response to Cavani asking for a meeting to query why ADL has said he needs to act like a man and if he doesn't make up his mind by the 20th of July he's going to rip his head off.

This is going to get messy(and the guy sounds nuts) and I don't think he's going to end up at Chelsea.

His release clause ends on the 10th of August and RM is hovering.

Apparently we are renewing our interest in Darren Bent - not sure what the Villa fans want for him (personally think we should be looking at younger guys but beggars can't be choosers!). If he took a wage cut from his 70k wages (or villa paid a portion) and came for about 6m tops, I could live with that.
