You'd think 15m will get the Baines deal done.

I'm starting to doubt the Thiago deal will get done now. A whole week we have apparently agreed terms so why haven't we bid the release clause?

I think it's because Barcelona are trying to persuade him to stay and are holding talks with him. There has been reports that we have agreed personal terms with him but I'm not sure If its actually happened or just total BS.

Isn't his release clause around £17m? I hope we get him soon but it's looking pretty ordinary at the moment, seems like we might be putting all our eggs in one basket to get Baines, hope not.

Baines is completely separate.

I doubt we have agreed terms with Thiago because if we had he would be a United player already.

Yep, you guys are but according to Napoli it was nowhere near enough. 63 million euro or GTFO they said.

Yeah, I know. It was more about the reports that Chelsea had agreed a deal, obviously premature.

Yep very premature:oops::D , who knows what to believe when it comes to De Laurentiis he comes across as a bit of a nut job. Happy for Chelsea to move on and look at other targets as he's not worth £53.6million.

a bit of a nut job is putting it lightly.

wouldn't be surprised if clubs are smoking him out waiting for the clause to expire early august, and then come in with 35-40 mil bids. especially if cavani says he wants to leave.

Yep, that's the way it's looking as he's really just shooting himself in the foot. Can't see Cavani waiting to stay after everthing that's being said.

This Graham Hunter guy (who apparently knows his stuff in Spanish football) on talk sport radio said he reckons ronaldo will play for Manchester United again within the next 2 years.

If Real are going to sell they need to this window to get maximum return.

That or Ronaldo will re-sign.

Sorry, BigFooty said it'll never happen.

I don't know about Gonzalo Higuain. He has a reputation for being a great finisher and good in the box (backed up by his La Liga goals) but so did Giroud.

Can't compare Ligue 1 & La Liga. Higuain also has a decent record for Argentina. He's not in the best tier of strikers in the world, however would be a considerable improvement on Giroud.

Just always seemed a little over rated to me. No doubt he's good, but interested to see him up against some nastier defences than those of Granada and Levante. No doubt that Wenger has a penchant for technical players.

Giroud actually had a poor shot to goal ratio in Ligue 1. Just got more opportunities.

Gonzalo wasn't utilised properly by Mourinho, his best season came with Pellegrini where he was madrid's top scorer. In that season they played a more build up style of game where as under Mou they had a more counter attacking game plan which is why Benzema was Mou's go to striker.
