It's probably time to start looking forward to the next gen of potential father son/daughter kids coming through. Especially considering the enormous success we've had with guys like Chris Johnson, Glenn Molloy, Brad Campbell and Tom Kavanagh.

The club launched the academy back in July with the following group participating:
  • Kalani White (11, Surfers Paradise) – son of Jeff White who played 235 games (Jeff also has twin boys who are younger)
  • Noah Yze (12) – son of Adem Yze who played 271 games
  • Charlie and Francesca Newport, whose father Stephen played 101 games
  • Kynan (13) and Ryder Brown (9), whose father Nathan played 146 games
  • Jemma and Paige Rigoni, whose father Guy played 107 games
  • Tegan and Elise Williams, whose father David played 67 games
  • Oliver Green – son of Brad who played 254 games
In addition Cooper Schwartz (14), Taj Woewodin (15) and Kobe Farmer (15, also qualifies for Freo, playing with Mandurah in WA) are our most likely prospects in the not too distant future. Apparently Kobe is a pretty good prospect, anyone seen him play?

NGA

Toby Bedford
Daniel Allsop

As time goes by I'll keep updating this post (that's if I'm not perma banned by some sooky Carlton mod)

You may ask is it a little weird and creepy that a group of middle aged (and most likely a little overweight) footy fanatics are actively following the sporting prowess and development of a group of kids as young as 7 and then discussing it on an internet forum? The answer is obviously yes so we're going to have some rules - No social media stalking of the kiddies please. I can't remember when we started tracking Jack Viney's progress but I reckon it was when he was about 10 so we do have form.

I'll try to keep the thread updated as best as I can. Adding our two NGA prospects for this year:

Toby Bedford (https://www.afldraftcentral.com.au/player/toby-bedford/)
Daniel Allsop

master bate thinks that Bedford's a 2nd or 3rd rounder but I haven't seen too much mentioned about Allsop this year.

I have to admit that I think it's bloody ridiculous that all clubs now have these academies, the AFL ****ed up giving one to Sydney and they've been trying to repair the damage ever since. This is the result.

Only played 88 games for us, minimum now is 100
We’ve got about six list spots available. I’d be open to drafting Clint and trying to get him to the hundred.

Nathan Brown’s boys play at my daughter’s club Greythorn Falcons (same club the Silvagnis played for and a few other AFL players).

Ryder placed 3rd in the u/10s B&F https://www.greythornfalcons.com.au/Awards/u10s_awards.html

As did Kynan in the u/13s https://www.greythornfalcons.com.au/Awards/u13s_awards.html

I’ve not seen either play.

Belated update on our approved nga prospects.

Although this article is now 2 years old it still gives us some NGA hope for the future (apologies if you've already seen it, somehow i missed it first time around)

  • Kobi George (VIC)
  • Cody Egan (VIC)
  • Deakin Pereira (VIC)
  • Ryan Koo Kwet Kim (VIC)
  • Deakyn Smith (VIC)
  • Declan Gould (VIC) - Pending
  • Andrew Moniz-Wakefield (NT)
  • Reggie Gallagher (NT)

Just a couple of articles I've found after a quick google search:

Both Andy Moniz-Wakefield and Ryan Koo Kwet look like really exciting prospects

I am all for KKK he will go nicely alongside KK.

For those who haven't seen young farmer:

I really liked the cut of number 21's jib! Dropped the easy receive, won it back, was then too slow but shrugged the tackle only to handball 1m to a teammate under pressure. Sign him up!
