The first report I read was he died of natural causes, which is just weird at 25. Surely there is more to it.

Who knows ?

I still mourn and remember Reggie Lewis' death far too young.

Still hurts even to this day, was one of the very few players (along with Drazen Peteovic ironically) who could go toe to toe with the great Michael Jordan and defend him well.

It’s sad what could have been during those days with the Boston Celtics and the NBA in general. I had heard that Reggie Lewis was an incredible player and that Len Bias could have been a great one.

Yep, Draven Petrovic was an absolute jet too, taken far too soon and in tragic circumstances.

Really paved the way for all the Euro starts that came afterwards, esp Dirk and Luka.

What are you talking about? Reggie Lewis dying young was incredibly tragic, as was losing Drazen Petrovic. But Lewis nor Petrovic could guard Jordan at all.

Here is the list of times Jordan faced Reggie Lewis.

Points, Rebound, Assists, Steal, Blocks, FG%

31 10 3 4 0 .462
42 4 6 3 1 .543
50 5 9 5 1 .594
26 4 7 1 1 .556

46 6 6 1 1 .640
52 3 2 9 2 .545
38 9 5 5 0 .700
42 9 11 8 0 .565
24 5 6 5 1 .566
36 6 11 4 0 .478
35 11 6 2 1 .542
45 8 9 3 0 .724
33 8 12 3 0 .500
41 5 6 2 0 .680
39 8 4 5 3 .586
37 7 9 2 0 .333
44 3 6 1 1 .615
14 8 5 2 3 .429
32 13 3 0 2 .609
26 2 2 3 0 .429
24 3 5 2 0 .400
29 6 3 4 1 .455
32 5 2 2 0 .609

For an average stat line of 35.7ppg, 6.29rpg, 6.08apg, 3.25spg, 0.79bpg on .544FG% this included six 40 point games and two 50 pieces.

Jordan and the Bulls went 16-8 in these games. The only time Jordan didnt completely feast on the Celtics was the game where he scored 14 points. He shot 6 for 14 in a quiet game where the Bulls had a blow out victory.

Drazen Petrovic didnt go much better.

35 10 10 1 0 .480
26 11 7 3 0 .423
42 1 4 0 2 .615
24 5 4 1 2 .444

34 6 7 4 2 .565
40 10 4 2 2 .500
38 6 3 1 1 .500
30 3 4 4 0 .500
24 9 8 1 0 .471

32.0ppg, 6.6rpg, 5.2apg, 1.8spg, 1.1bpg, .509FG% and these include two 40 point games and a 35 point triple double. Jordan and the Bulls went 10-0 in these games.

Petrovic and Lewis died way too young and both were in the middle of really promising careers but let's not get it twisted.

Lol Mike basically outperformed his career averages playing against these guys and that includes his bum years with the Wizards

Interesting we took Banchero at #1, when everyone thought we were going to take Smith instead,

I actually think because Mosley was in Dallas with Luka, he sees Paolo as a bit of a similar sort of "point forward" in a way. He needs to improve his 3PT shot + defense, but hopefully becomes a perennial AS.

Also Kendrick Perkins is the worst expert on TV going round at the minute.

You're an Orlando fan?

My deepest sympathies lol
I personally would have taken Chet Holmgren if I had pick 1 myself.

But hope Banchero works out well for the Magic, and yes Perk is extremely annoying, way too exposed is part of the problem, he is tolerable in small doses imo
