Not related to selection but did anyone see those 2 soft frees that Essendon got infront of goal yesterday? 2 in a row in the 3rd quarter when the game was in the balance. Imagine how many goals Tex would kick if he got frees for that kind of stuff.

Yeah what the hell happened there? I swear he was a reliable shot, both on the run and set shot, back in 2005/6. He's been bloody awful lately. Sprays them out on the full half the time!

When I see sloane taking a running shot I am confident he will kick it. When I see sloane taking a set shot, I am confident he will miss.

This leads me to the conclusion that sloane should always play on.

On a footy related note I think Sando needs to come out and say something about frees not being paid to Tex......... like he did with Tippett. Seemed to work well for Tip after things were all said and done.

Tex is getting mauled by his defender almost on every 1/1 occasion and getting nothing. Not sure if its because he doesn't play it up or he's so big it doesn't show as much but at this stage its highway robbery.

I also hate the fact when Tex uses his body perfectly to get a defender under the ball and marks it he gets called for a free against for a push in the back. Its like he is being penalised for being too strong.

Although that mark he took on the weekend where he pushed the dogs player fair and square in the back and wasnt called as such was terrible on the umps behalf.

Moving to NSW will help his cause. Zampa is a decent enough replacement.

*The reluctance to try Petrenko in defense, even if its just for 1 game to see how he goes.

People complaining about Lyon not getting a game when he has had 4 SANFL games this year and featured in the bests twice.

This is compounded by the fact that on the weekend we had the 4th youngest side in the AFL in both average games played and average age. We have also given games to Lynch/Jenkins/Brown/Crouch/Laird/Kerridge who have all played under 20 AFL games. We have also been extremely lucky with Injury (although the last two weeks its started to change) - so opportunities haven't been there.

Relax - he will get his chance.

From about the mid point of last year he would've been in about the top 2 or 3 players in the SANFL competition.

Yup - that was last year. Was unfortunate not to get more games last year, but we couldn't fit him in due to the form of our squad and non-existant injury list.

Also - SANFL form isn't everything. These players should be performing at that level. Symes was the best SANFL player last year and he couldn't get a game with us either. Johncock kicked 7 two weeks ago.

2013 is a clean slate. He needs to keep racking up touches and dominating SANFL games and he will get his chance. Has had 2 outstanding games out of 4.

Rootchis journalistic level! Pointing out how a 'man in the members' stand' was full of voice complaining about Crows being penalised for a DOOB....and then silent when Walker was paid the mark after pushing his opponent in the back???????.......anyone knows that a true supporter would complain about both decisions!

And seemingly giving kudos to Koch for 'ignoring the comforts of the team bus' to hail a taxi outside Metricon Stadium, thereby braving the alcohol fuelled opposition fans ...............but maybe I misread any intended sarcasm.
