You might be forced to train with us next year if we keep playing so shit.

My vent - I'm sick of people saying we should play for draft picks.

Every time the weagles are shit / play shit / do something shit - we manage to out-shit them.

just tired, really tired of not having anything to say when the sledging starts.

Tired of watching and not knowing what team is going to turn up.

Tired of waiting for the team to implode because 4 quaters of footy is too long a time to play consistently over.

i dont think we should play for them, however now we are no chance for finals or top four, which lets face it you need to be if you want any chance. What should we do? we need top line mids, they rarely make it past the first few picks. Yes palmer did, but he is a bit older than the others next year will be a better test.

The fact that not only did I get banned for a month on BF, but after my suspension expired, my internet at home wasn't paid (ooops ) So now I can only acces the web on the Uni computers, which are so ridiculously slow that it took me 25 minuts just to log in and read this thread. Mind you, not having been able to post/argue with the BF community for a while has just shown me what freaks you all really are (IP excluded)

Let's see how long I last this time

Also, sick and tired of getting talked up pre-season and then when it goes pear-shaped having nuff-nuffs saying how we got all arrogant and smart-arsed before the season only to fall on our faces again... Like it's ever us who say it...

Just because a bunch of "commentators" all jump on board each others' coat-tails and all try and say the same thing so if they're wrong they're all wrong together - doesn't mean the same rubbish is coming from us - the supporters.

Bloody hell, we've had it long enough to know you just keep your head down, cos as soon as you stick it up it gets bloody shot off.

i dont think we should play for them, however now we are no chance for finals or top four, which lets face it you need to be if you want any chance. What should we do? we need top line mids, they rarely make it past the first few picks. Yes palmer did, but he is a bit older than the others next year will be a better test.

Quality mids who went 1st round from pick 5 onwards:

07 - Palmer #7
06 - Boak #5, Selwood #7
05 - Pendlebury #5, Jones #12,
04 - Lewis #7
02 - Salopek #6
01 - Bartel #8, Dal Santo #13
00 - S.Burgoyne #12

Some decent players there that prove you don't need to finish bottom 4 to find quality. And that's not even counting the guys who go later in the draft like Mitchell, Cornes, Kerr, etc...

Your argument cuts both ways though. BECAUSE we have no access to the inner machinations of FFC and BECAUSE FFC pay absolutely no attention to our childish and often inane ramblings on some IMB the only outlet we have for our frustrations IS to post them here where there are others who understand us the way our families and workmates don't.

I would be delusional if I thought that Mark Harvey was going to play or not play Mathew Carr based on what I write here. I'm letting off steam. I'll still be at the game on Sunday screaming for the team but I reserve the right to have a rant about how crap they are here if I feel like it and lets be honest, at the moment they ARE crap. Next week they may be on top of the world but who knows? Thats footy, high & lows as far as the eye can see.

There is a big brother style moderated website available for those who only wish to read positive upbeat comments about FFC. THe name of the site escapes me at present but I keep thinking white goods for some reason.

As mentioned earlier, "Tired" is the word. "Disillusioned" also comes to mind.

We've been through so much crap for so long. Then, when things start to look maybe just a little bit promising and I get my hopes up, we fall flat on our arses again.

After the second half of '06, I really thought we were starting to get somewhere. Then last year ruined all that, and these last 2 losses coughing up huge leads has really iced the cake of shyte.

You get to the point where you wonder if we'll ever be any good.

The only thing we have is the results...and the unfortunate thing is the results are fuelling this perception...and I hate to break it to you we could well be 1-12.
The thing with your last sentence is that playing the "kids" is the way forward...and the fact that they are kids is irrellevant, it's just a title...it's about getting knowledge on ability and putting some experience into them so that next year, we have an idea whether they cut the mustard or we can have some confidence that when faced with particular situations they will make the right choices during the game ...and after however many years of crapulence, surely we have enough knowledge on the ability or lack thereof of Matt Carr, Brett Peake, Ryan Murphy, Sean McManus, Mark Johnson...Have we got anywhere? Doesn't seem like it to me.
I also want Clayton Hinkley, BOB, Rhys Palmer and Mayne getting yelled at by Peter Bell and Pav, having them teach the rookies...because soon Bellie won't be there.
Notice, Dean Solomon, Peter Bell are not included in the "oldies" group?

No one's running around criticising in a bleating fashion Geebung playing Darren Milburn or St Kilda playing Robert Harvey are they? Why is that?
It's all on ability and results...some of our "older" players are lacking in one which is affecting the other

Another reason I thought this of thread. I am feeling mightily peed off at the moment - on a lot of different fronts.

Peed off with the nuff-nuffs in the media.

Peed off with the constant bagging on this site.

Peed off that I'm still peed off about the Geelong and Melbourne games.

Peed off that we manage to out-shit the weagles at every opportunity.

Peed off that an over-the-hill-slow-was-once-a-good-player-but-gets-himself-suspended-playing-WAFL-while-trying-to-get- some-match-fitness-after-getting-injured-while-only-managing-less-than-20-possessions-with-one-third-clangers
-from-his-two-AFL-games-for-us-despite-carving-up-the-WAFL was recruited last year when young mids like Arrowsmith and McGinnity (both now weagles) were available to at least have a punt on.

And I'm peed off that he'll probably play one game in the WAFL after his suspension, get 25 possessions and kick a couple of goals and come back into the senior team the week after and get 10 possessions, 4 clangers and give away 2 FA.

I'm peed off that Murphy has a pea-heart and doesn't want to make the position his that he occupied with such aplomb in the second half of 2006.

I'm peed off that the best we've had is the second half of 2006.

I'm peed off that Tarrant hasn't yet lived up to expectations.

I'm peed off that Matt Carr and Macca are still on our list when they are clearly not the way forward.

I'm peed off that the friggen media won't leave the "Warnock to go home / Mundy to go home" line alone already.

I'm peed off that these blokes haven't signed already.

I'm peed off that we'll be good enough to win possibly another 5-7 games, but not good enough to make the finals.

I'm peed off that we'll be bad enough to lose probably another 8-10 games, but not bad enough to get a Top 2 pick or a priority pick.

I'm peed off that we have so few youngsters - cos we do have some real quality youngsters - and it would be great to have at least another 5 or so from the last couple of drafts all pushing for selection.

The thing is, I don't get how pointing out repeatedly that Matthew Carr is not as good as he once was and that Shaun McManus is over 30 helps anything. You can say that it's venting frustration but it just looks like cannibalism to me.

Why not just ride out the lows then instead of turning your back on the team and kicking them while they're down? The fact that no one at the club reads this board is irrelevant. It's the principle.

I'm sick of Harvey and our club people pretending we are a chance to win the grand final this year. Are they on crack? It just continually feeds this "let down" feeling because the ____ing club is talking us up all the time. "We've been close with the top 4 sides" big deal, we lost them and we're in a shit position. I am with RIPPER on the fact that we've lost so many games we were highly tipped to win that I have thought players were paid not to perform.

I just can sense what is going to happen this year, we win 9 games, position 9 or 10 and just get screwed in the draft, AGAIN. We need to finish low and ensure we pickup some talent for once in our ____ing lifetime, not trade it all to Hawthorn or Melbourne for the next dud. Even if Franklin was on the cards I wouldn't trade a pick for him, we need midfielders, MIDFIELDERS and MORE MIDFIELDERS. Field a whole team of them, with the way the game is being played, you might as well.

It's a joke that one of our best midfielders is over 30, 5 foot 8 and until recently didn't even live near fremantle. No offense to Bell because I like him a lot, it's just a great indication of where our list is at.... shit creek.

That's exactly the point, players shouldn't be selected because of their age! Take for example Chopper and Rhys. Both of them well and truly earned their spots with good form in the pre season and in the WAFL, so they got a crack at the big time. They took their chances with both hands and both are now regulars. Excellent! But they weren't gifted their spots because they're under 20. Likewise, older players shouldn't be turfed out just because they're old. Peter Bell is the case in point (as you mentioned). On the other hand, so many people were calling for Matthew Carr's head before a ball had even been bounced this season on the basis that he's too old. Even in this thread, months later, people have expressed that they are pissed off that he got a chance because he is old. He didn't show any form and he was dropped. Great! That's the way it should be. Throwing babies out with bathwater is fun and all, but dropping players because of their age is stupid.

It just happens that we have too many passengers, and there has been a reluctance to play some of the younger guys...that's where this all comes from...

It's not irrelevant, that's my point. If I thought it was going to make any difference to anything I wouldn't post negative stuff here. IMB's are the modern day equivalent of having a whinge down the pub with your mates about the footy or standing around the water cooler at work. No one cares what we say here. Last night I defended the club to some knockers in an argument. I don't knock them except in the company of like minded tragics. That's my principles.

I like Dockerland, It's witty and clever. I read it, I post there but it's not the place for a serious discussion about footy. It IS moderated, negative comments and threads ARE deleted. It's a fact. It's not some conspiracy theory I made up. It's their right to do so, it's my right to choose whether I want to hang out there. This forum is much more loosely moderated. Criticism whether intelligent or not is tolerated. I'm actually invited in this thread by a regular long term poster to vent my frustrations. You are entitled to disagree with them but not my right to say them.

Many of the young guys have not been getting a go because they aren't ready. Sometimes over the last few seasons we've had to stick with more mature players because throwing a Rob Warnock, Garrick Ibbotson or Marcus Drum into the deep end was akin to feeding them to the sharks. It all comes back to my original argument. We have NFI what is going on at the club compared to the coaches. They will always do what is best for the players. Example: apparently Mark Harvey was worried that Rhys Palmer was getting ahead of himself at the start of the season, so he sent him back to Moss Street for a week. That's not being reluctant to play him because he's young, that's looking after his best interests and helping Rhys to develop as a player and a person.

I had a whinge, months later that Mark Johnson was selected ahead of Palmer, Drum, Ibbo etc not because he is old but because he's an Essendon reject and has never pulled on a jumper for Freo. What right does he have to come in ahead of someone like Drum who has put in 3 years or so in our system, stepped up every time he's got a chance. It sends the wrong message to the team and the supporters IMO. It really annoyed me at the time and it still does. It smacked of nepotism and I'm not convinced it wasn't.

I don't necessarily agree with that but it's impossible to disprove...However it should be noted the amount of first year players other clubs have blooded compared to us and their relative progress...

OK, but I still think that kicking the club while they're down is a dog act, no matter who is witnessing the kicking. If I say stuff about you to your friends behind your back, that doesn't make it any better.

Without wanting to make this thread into another Dockerland thread, I'm not arguing that it's moderated heavily, but I think it's a good thing. Why do you think so many people rate Dockerland as a great read but not much good for posting? Because only the very best material gets through the editing floor. There's nothing like the "JLo is a cancer" threads or the OMG ROFLMAO YOU GOT PWNED crap and my god am I grateful for that. BF is great if you can wade through the half of it that is baseless rumours, trolling, pessimism and uninformed opinions.
