These kind of hands, all in quick succession in a low buy-in limit donkament give the game of Limit Texas Hold Em a bad name IMO...

And yes, the fact that I am playing these kind of donkaments is a vent within itself as well... Its that or online training...

I fail at life...

Don't know what pisses me off more. Finishing just short of the final table 3 nights in a row in a Horse Tourney (first 3 I have ever played) or getting sucked out in both Hold Em and Omaha to knock me out after being 2nd in chips.

What a shit day for me.

I play the Sunday Million and am sitting nicely about 200 spots from the bubble when I go busto. AQ>99. Shipped it pre with my 99 on the button, earlier I was up against same villain with 88 and shipped pre and he called with AQ, this time the 99 didn't hold up. Should have folded to his re-raise. After more thought, I never should have shipped, my stack was healthy enough to not risk my tourney life so close to the bubble.

I play both the Nightlies (70k and 100k). The 70k is a complete waste of time as my KQ hits 2 pair on flop, only to be runner runner flushed out of it. Down to like 1200 in chips. I hang around for a bit until I get 99, I shove and called by AK off. Flop comes Q-10-10. Turn is an 8. River a Q.

I was doing quite well in the 100k, had AA twice, to keep my chip count healthy. Nothing happened, I was on about 4k, have A:diamond:K:diamond: in BB. Plenty of action pre, ended up 2 of us going all-in with table leader calling with KK. AJ was the other villain. And I am out. 0/3 today and down about $400. FML.

Semi-vent: Had 10:spade:10:heart: here and we're 12 away from the bubble in the Chinese Daily. I was obviously committed once he shoves here and before I could even click on call it timed out and sat me out, like instantly. I asked him what happened and he said he had no idea, asked him to honestly tell me if he could beat 10's and he said he had AQcc so hopefully telling the truth and this ridiculous "glitch" has given me a second life.

Cash game at mates place i was playing yesterday, had JJ in the CO. Re-popped 3 times pre flop so ended up 4 people in for 25 pre flop.

Flop QQ9, first guy donks all in for extra 60 odd. Everyone else folds to me, I'm sure he doesn't have Q as i've caught him out bluffing earlier in the night. I tank for ages, when i say i know you don't have a Q he looks worried like i've got him, and i do, he turns over 10s. Another guy says ooooh i had a 10 too. Unlucky.

Turn 10. At this stage im thinking WTF, surely not, 1 outed get f***ed, i hate life etc etc. Its ok, he hit his 1 out, i still have up to 4 outs, cmon.....

River K. Nope, i hate you fishhooks!!! (About 5 hands after that they knocked me out too, went all in ~30 with two pair on the turn to lose to a set of J  )

Ship that man the 200+ pot, to go with the 450+ pot i missed out on last time with AA v 10,2, preceded by AA losing to QJ for 500 the time before that.

Good cards are so, so shit to me.

So need to get my emotions in check or give this game up. Just donked off my entire Full Tilt bankroll because I was steamed over a bad beat. 2 Days after donking my entire Centrebet account over a sports bet that I had lost previously.

Good times.

Haha I did the exact same thing twice when I was first starting out. Really nothing worse than throwing all your hard work completely out the door aye.

Gotta vent at bubbling, finished mid-late 42% of the time from 20 MTT's in '10. That's too many (semi) bubbles for my liking. Keep getting off to amazing starts and fading as the money approaches, annoying. On another note i'm absolutely pumped for GSOP which starts tomorrow! Let's see if I can actually make a payout this time. :o

Don't see that happening anytime soon. Was 1st after an hour, 2 and a half hours in i'm sitting 25th/400. Out in 256th, 1 outered (he rivered a royal flush vs my flopped 89hh, but I paid him off on the river when I could have laid it down), KJhh vs K10 all in pre for 20bb's, flop 2 hearts, river 10c. Then blinded down to 20bb's, couldn't catch any cards. Call a raise with 78cc, about 5 of us see a flop of A56r I check raise all-in AQ calls and I can't get there. :thumbsd:

I gather you raised and were reraised from the blinds? I think you have to shove 99 in that situation. To fold just leaves you vulnerable to aggression.

Unless you have a very large stack, you should be looking for opportunities to double up near the bubble. These tournaments have such deep prize pools that to get much better than a mincash, you need to survive a really significant length of time after the bubble breaks.

Quick question. Why no 3bet closing the action on the flop. The more I think about it, you need to raise when it gets to you to start with anyway because there is no guarantee that the SB will check raise. If the SB just calls, odds are you will face him with two bets cold on the turn and he will not be able to call with overs or a smallish pair... Its good if he has a FD, but you dont know that on the turn...

Very bad river card, but Im sure you already know that...

It's such a dry board that I was quite happy to slow play the flop for deception. Despite the result, I am happy to give people cheap shots at two outs when they are paying me off when they miss.

On the flop I initially just called hoping to draw an overcall from the SB. When SB raised I was in two minds whether to 3bet or to wait for the turn to raise the field (which will often get 1 more BB in). I opted for the latter since the call/3bet line is pretty obviously trips or better.

I obviously wasn't expecting the turn raise from the BB. Based on the action, this must be a full boat or an overpair. After the cap I was almost certain he had 9s or 8s, but pot was too big to fold.

Very bad river card, but Im sure you already know that...

It's not that bad, since he cannot possibly have TJ and I have already put him on a boat :)

played the 888pl foundation semi final yesterday, had this sick beat

mr smooth had around 5500 in chips (around 500 more than the start stack, hadn't really had many hands to play yet)
blinds 100-200
dealt to me - KK
raise to 900 (were 3 limpers in all ready, i was mid position)
folded around to one jerk off, who called
flop cam 10-2-3, all differing suits

i raise 1.5k
jerkoff reraises all in
i tank for a min, call
he flips over AJ off

so i'm around 85% to win from here

turn 4

river 5

i cry

A sick beat indeed Mr Smooth, but fairly standard.

Deep into a recent tournament I had AA in the SB, action folded around to me so I raised 4xBB, the BB thought for a while and then pushed back all in. I insta-called, he showed T5os and hit the ten on the flop and the five on the turn.

I cannot really vent about it because the memory destroys my soul.

Poker!

Fairly standard, if he thinks your opening raise range is wide then his shove will get you off a lot of hands such as AQ and AJ, maybe 88 and 99. If you call he is still going to have at least about 20% euity against hands such as KK with his various backdoor draws, the ace, and possibly the jacks if you called with KT...

It not personal, its just poker....

This probably isnt going to make you feel any better, but these kind of beats in massive MTT's are pretty standard... It takes a massive amount of luck to go real deep in a big MTT such as these, and as a result, variance is pretty nuts, requiring a very deep bankroll compared to STT's and cash games... Sure, the lure of the big first prizes are a massive incentive, but its not easy being in the top 10% of fields all the time...

Win $3k, lose $1.5k. God I hate poker. Last 2 nights lost 2 coinflips for a massive stack deep in 2 MTT's. 1st one KK raise in LP, call from SB, flop came down 3s5s9x and he just shoves $9k, i have $11k and i'm in 2nd already, I have to call and he flips A6ss and get's there (REALLLY wp), turn is the Ks just to rub it in. He goes to $20k, 2nd has $13k with about 40 left. Shove last 10bb's in with KK again vs 88, 8 on the flop.

Then 2nd one AQss, raise in MP, BB calls. Flop Js6s5c, he leads out 3/4 pot, I re-raise he shoves, call he flips AJ and he holds. Would have put me top 10 with 50 left/300, 1st get's $3.5k. FML. Then to finish me off 2 outered on the river all in pre 44 vs 22 for a 20bb stack to get me right back in it. Exact same scenario both times.

Sighhh, only played the one MTT tonight. Only managed to get in 4 "coinflips" for the night but of course could only manage to win 1 of them.

The first one, was the 2nd hand of the tourney (already chipped up the 1st hand) JJ all in on a 10 4 3 flop vs A10, i'm like what roughly ~75%... he get's there. Next one a shortstack shoves on my bb for the second orbit in a row right after the money, I have to call with A8, he wakes up with 88 and holds - about 30% so effectively 0/2 coinflips. LP raise to 3xbb, I don't feel like 3-betting 1/2 my stack to have him take it away on the flop so I shove 20bb's with 88 and he makes the call with A3ss?? And wow, I actually hold!! :o! Down to the final 7/107 EP raise I shove 12bb's with 99 he makes the call with AK; never in doubt he gets there. Just completely standard at the moment. Right before the money get's big, 1st got $1.5k which would have put me even since TID Chinese Daily.

Trying to make some cash ASAP as a few mates have planned to rent out a few rooms at crown to just play poker (online and live) for a week and just see how much $$ we can make - throw in a bit of partying as well, pretty much inspired by the 2M2M concept. I'm completely broke at the moment after paying for my car and don't won't to withdraw from my bankroll as I hate playing without a solid enough roll to handle the swings so the pressure is on to take something down before this Friday - the 1st night.

PS: I complain way too much about completely standard stuff :D
