We have gone past playing Stiller in our team, i am sure his selection was about rewarding him for his 100th game, but I hope we see Docherty or Bartlett next week instead of Phyllis!

Time to get Lisle and Ace into the team.
Yep, our backline has run out of options with Maguire Golby & McGrath injured...we need to shift Merrett back....and get games into another tall forward..

Polkinghorne's torp credit is just about worn out. His handball to Rohan's feet in the first was the first counter goal Syd were given. He is consistently doing things just short of senior standard. He really has disappointed, after a so-so run against the D's.

Also, **** every ****smoker busting the knives out for Voss after waiting until he did to shift Sauce. Same old Moos.

THIS WHOLE POST
EXACTLY!

Today showed me that even though we had more depth than last year. It's really hard to replace Goose and Golby (and black) at the same time. Stiller is not Golby, and I love McKeever but he isn't Goose.

Lester has been on the nose for me for a couple of games. It wasn't too bad while we were winning but it stood out to me tonight.

I'd like to see Sauce in defense next week with Lisle playing ruck/forward. Drop Lester and let Karni play on the wing/midfield (apparently he's been doing well there in ressies), bring Ace in to play forward and then replace Stiller with some young blood. He might be reliable and hard worker but I'd rather see some games go into one of the kids.

Drop Polky and use Beams in his role (I don't see them being -that- different). I didn't mind Crisp's efforts tonight, I'd like him to look a bit hard for an open man in the forward line rather than blaze away to the square. But he put in some good efforts.

On the up side Zorko's sliding kicks are amazing, and Hanley's kicking was great tonight too. Also got to see him work his way through traffic and I loved watching him in the 4Q was showing how to stay on your man even when he is trying to fake you out and get away. I love that irish heh.

Felt sorry for McKeever. No Goose or Merrett down back to help him coupled with Syd having inside 50 after inside 50. I still think he has been consistently improving week after week which is a good sign.

The Sydney match was just about as close to torture as you could get for me. I knew we didn't have much of a chance, the start gave me hope and then we slipped back to some of the crap that we dished up at the start of the year.

How many ****ing 2 metre handballs to the ground or the opposition did we give up? The umpires did their part putting the boot in. And **** me, Paul Roos - I was / am your biggest fan, but FFS that was simply the most annoying / arrogant / biased commentary I have ever heard. It was vomit-inducing bile.

And as for the Sydney fans booing Brown continually - 'petulant princesses' is what came to mind.

In it's entirety - good post.

Boot Polkinghorne - he is not & never will be an A Grader. For every good thing he does (about 3 a game) he turns it over/burns it 3 times. Enough is enough. We have kids tearing itm up in the magoos, & this bloke keeps on getting a game. Eat my shorts.

There seems to be a complete lack of photos of the game on aflphotos.com.au.

Really annoying. What am I going to look at while I'm supposed to be working now?!

TBH, i think it was more about having a bit of an experienced player down there. Doc would be the only other option, and he is a bit of an unknown in what he could bring at senior level. You know what your getting with Stiller, and i wouldn't mind sticking with him until Golby is back. I think we are missing some experience down back though, and perhaps until Goose is back, Merrett should go back, and we can bring Lisle in for 3 games or so, give him a go up forward. Once Goose is back, i wouldn't have a problem with throwing Merrett back up forward again.

Polka is the only one that 'needs' to be dropped. He is simply woeful. Twice he handballed to a runners feet, very simple unpressured handballs, his kicking is also a mess. He either needs to play as a leading medium forward, or be dropped to work on the rest of his game, because he simply isn't adding anything to the team. He use to be a threat around goals. I don't think he is good enough to play higher up the ground. I'd rather have Polec playing the role he was playing yesterday, leading up the ground to get the footy. Polka was basically playing a wing, and i'd take Polec every day of the week.

I have been one of polks biggest fans over his career until this year, he has done nothing all year (excluding "the torp").

Umpires were annoying, bot our defence was ****ing horrible at points last night. So many soft goals by either the ball coming over the back of a pack for a Saint to waltz on to, or a mark being taken in a two Saints v one Lions contest. How the hell do they manage that in our forward line? If anything we should have an extra man given Gilbert and McEvoy were busy taking uncontested marks in defence down the other end. Just hopeless.

Again with a lack of photos on the aflphotos website. Seriously, have they just given up on that or something?!

Some nice ones of Browny though, and at least there's no awkward ones.

Certainly got the A-team commentators last night too, a veritable who's who of people you would spend all 3 wishes on to mute, just to make sure if the first 2 times didn't work.

Check out these luminaries!
Tony Shaw.
Liam "Pickers" Pickering.
Der-wayne.

My vent - 19,000 odd people turned up last night. So much for making the GABBA a fortress.
I too was dissapointed by that effort from the Brisbane folk, Not sure if a Rugby thing was on at the same time though.

Thought for sure at least 22k+ would come.
