fairweather supporter/ bandwagon etc etc is something that you people make up. You either support a team or dont, as some of you say. I have been following the lions for several years now and hoping they win every time. I would say l have supported them.

Ummm, l have pretty much been following them when they have been down in the gutters ear after year, l didnt see the premiershipsw that most of you saw, l would say that l was pretty good in following them in the first place as they were, lets be honest, shit when l first started supporting them. All l have known is them being bad without any success.

But you said you'd still be leaving if things continued to be bad did you not?

You have a really bizarre "me vs you weirdos" mentality. Makes me wodner why you're here.

Yeah, some might say you're a real hero.

That's absolutely true, but your kind of support is very different from our kind of support.

Your kind is certainly more pragmatic, I'll give you that.
That is exactly correct and what l have been trying to explain to you, my support and most non-diehaard fans support them is different from the way you suppot them, but we both still support them. If that makes sense.

It's something that's very real.

Anyone who puts a time limit on their support is a fairweather supporter to some extent.

And, to be honest, perhaps it's okay for people to be fairweather supporters. I just can't relate to that. It seems to divorce the support from the passion, the intensity, the emotion. It's like being content to hold hands because you can't commit to a sexual relationship.

So what. Me marching is my main point, regualr fans leaving is my sub point. Conversations grow, it is still true no matter which way you make it.
What do you mean "so what"? There is no "so what" about it. You made a public threat on a Lions chat site and you expect criticism to be brushed of via deflection? Like heck mate. If we won a flag in a few years and you were on here taking in the glory I would consider you as the ultimate fair-weather and enough around here would to.

You have dug yourself in deep here. Mate if you got it wrong in the first place just admit it. Not hard to say something like "an off the cuff remark made in the heat of the moment".

I think it would be more accurate to say that you support them, but you don't support them.

No way I'm ever going to stop supporting the club. Things may sh!t me, but I'll keeping supporting. Closest I came to putting my queue in the rack and walking away was the treatment of Voss last year. I'll get angry emotional and vent but at the end of the day I just couldn't walk away then and I still found myself counting down the days until the start of the season. In fact over time I find the draw to the club getting greater and even venture to reserves games occasionally now. We've sat in the same place at the Gabba for over 14 years, section 17 right amongst the opposition supporters. That use to be fun some years back when we knew we would win. Now days can be difficult but that won't change either.

Yup "support with conditions" seems like an oxymoron to me.

Systematic matchfixing or systematic doping would be the only things that could sway me, and even then, I'd probably come back once the perpetrators were turfed.

So you're seriously saying that attendances won't drop if we keep losing games John? Bloody hell mate. Kidding yourself. ;)

? howw was l deflecting. I said something, l stand by it, l will argue my point and l will not take it back. i say what l mean. Some of you need to learn what the word support means. We all support the same club but some people support it more than other. They are not called anything else. You either support it or you dont, these are the words you keep saying and l agree with it.

Yep. Tell me a beer doesn't taste 5 times better on the back of hours of hot and sweaty yard work.

Would that not be the same thing you accuse me. "support with conditions" You are supporting the lions under the condition that they do not matchfix. Then you would not support them.

SA is full of these types with the crows and power... the amount of people that know very little about their own teams down here is staggering, to the point Ill inform them about their clubs.

So is the Gold Coast, at the recent Merticon game all I remember is some dude yelling give it to Gary give it to Gary for 2 hours. They seriously did not know the name of one other player. At one stage he turned to his mate and said we're pretty good considering we've only been in this comp for 2 years. We lost it at that point and amused ourselves the rest of the game pointing out their other players names for them....that ones Jäger, that ones Prestia some times they call him the human meatball, that on is Riska etc ect. We had a chuckle despite the scoreboard.

Yes, it is perfectly apparent that you have a different definition to the word "support" than most. You don't have to reiterate this point for the 15th time.

Semantics aside, the general view seems to be that you saying that you will withdraw your support if there is another exodus is, well... pissweak.

Do we need a 5 page debate on what pissweak means now?
