I don't think that was ever the intention. We didn't really need Maguire, Merrett and Patfull to cover the blues forwards so Yeo came in to give us more run and play off the halfback.

Um... Yes we did. The young guy whose name started with C that we had not good match up for (commentators kept fapping about hit shoulders) but Goose would've held easily.

Venting the frustration I have for Hear us Roar Facebook page and some of the fans. Uneducated idiots. instead of identifying defiencies in the players, execution of skills etc. the loss is blamed on Voss and the 2009 trade period. Every week...

You mean the bloke Merrett played on???

I think we're losing the meaning of the vent thread if we're going to call people out for their comments whilst in vent mode. It kinda defeats the purpose.

Karix is clearly wrong though.

Casboult. Merrett wasn't on him though. I though Merrett was on Waite? I don't remember seeing Sauce with him (maybe that was the problem). I got the impression we had Merrett on Waite and Patful on Walker.

Karix is clearly wrong though.

There are two things you should know about me. 1) Nothing is ever clear 2) Wrong is a compliment.

For the first time, I think we're going to suck again next year and Voss will be out a job. Can't see where enough improvement will come from to suddenly leap frog anyone.

A fit Leuenberger will make a big difference alone.

Unless he's five goals worth of difference... We don't seem to have lost many close games this year.

I also find myself thinking we'd be better off planning for the future and putting Brown and Black out to pasture, and then setting up with structures sustainable going forward. It definitely seems to be what we're trying with Black.

We don't seem to have lost many close games this year.

We seem to be one of the better-performed bottom teams rather than truly being a middle-of-the road team that is in the mix.

Teams such as Fremantle, Essendon, North Melbourne, Carlton, Richmond and St.Kilda have accounted for us pretty easily (although, we should have beaten the Saints, in my opinion). These six teams are battling it out for the last two spots in the Top 8 and they all appear to be 6+ goal better sides than we are.

Rich: Learn to break a tag!!
Banfield: Please fall asleep on a park bench with an E in your pocket/shit on the hotel corridor floor/practise a judo move or two on a helpless opponent/ put on a nighty and run around with a dildo sticking out of shorts. Just anything so that you don't get picked next week, the rest of the season or season 2013 and onwards.
Polks: As above
Brown: Find your angry pills. This gentle giant/elder statesman just isn't your thing. Throw those elbows and brain someone like you did to that scum circa 03 GF. Carltank fans don't understand respect but they do understand fear. Adelaide will be wearing white shorts next week so I want to see brown stains of one kind or the other.
Harwood: Please break your goal kicking cherry. I promise it only hurts the first time.

Sorry I'm late with my vent. I only knocked off work at midnight.

Yep, when it is all said and done, we're probably only slightly better than we were last year. I can see where the improvement might come from - but it doesn't change the fact that we need to be improving faster than the clubs above us.

This, this & this! Sitting in the stands last night watching Hudson trying to run around with Kruezer just kept me thinking about how much we missy Leuey. Hudson and to a lessor extent Lisle & Merrett are pretty good negating ruckman but they can't categorically win the taps (& in Hudsons case, have a pretty influential presence around the ground). Our fall back plan of kicking to the pack near the wings on a kick in does not work as well without Leuenberger & a second big man there either.

Every time a fair to good opponent clicks into gear, we just get blown off the park with barely a whimper. Need some warriors out there who are prepared to kick against the pricks when the chips are down.

Yes, one player and one player alone will be the difference......seriously! This is our bit for awhile, a long while I say, our two best players are close to finishing, our list is showing where it's at, a young developing side that is showing signs that not all of them are going to make it in the cut and thrust world of the AFL and that is a reality. But in saying all that I can see a direction forward both on and off the field and as frustrating as it at this point in time patience is what is required. To my wife's annoyance I'll still get my membership and go and follow the boys.

we need the scott brothers back !!!! get some pig back into this side.

how must they feel watching us

Nothing like a loss against a much hated opponent to get everyone depressed about the footy club again.

Are you assuming that it's a knee jerk reaction from the supporters? Even Brownie and Vossie have piped up lately at their own frustrations.

I'd say its a combination of the last month.

For the past three years the same things were being said. If this or that player was in the team it would have made a difference. Every club struggles with their top players being injured. Check out the Eagles list, or the Dockers, or Collingwood or Geelong or any other team. All have some significant quality players out. Carlton were seriously undermanned last night and were there to be taken.
I can not see us progressing any further than mediocre under Voss.
Voss is not the coach who has the capacity to progress beyond the current mediocre standard.
The Lions Board needs to have the cajoles to do what the Dockers did with Harvey.

Not necessarily knee-jerk but I reckon about 90% of posts in the last 12 hours have been negative.

In that case we need a new "Positive Vent Thread"
