Yes I would have vented had we continued on with how the 1st wtr played out. As I looked in the Match day thread I was going to mention in there that there seemed to be posters who I only ever see with the negative comments and not much else but feared of being set upon. I could completely understand some comments at qtr time but fair play to Voss & the team they turned it around, unlike some of the posters here.

Troll accounts?

Troll accounts?

Per chance, they seem to be more of the musings of the "supporters" (for want of a better term) from the facebook fan pages.

A vent at the club.

Give us something in terms of team selection night! This is a piss poor effort. Rig up a webcam and have one of the assistant coaches talk about team changes. Do a live chat where Vossy answers a few fan questions. Have a player do some audio/video/chat about the upcoming game. Give us something!

Team selections are now a big deal. Thursday night is the start of the footy week. Launch it with something more than a crappy web article which tells us 3/5s of bugger all!

You might stop the Facebook morons ranting, you might even give something for the BigFooty intelligentsia to mull over. Most of all, you might actually get people paying attention to your club, if only to get the inside info for the fantasy footy sides.

That could be made into a good Hitler parody

They had something like that last year - a video of one of the coaches briefly talking about the selected players. Not sure why they abandoned it.

Yup, despite the positive initiatives out of the Lions media department this year, the loss of that segment & the debacle that the previously informative Bupa Recovery Report has become has me disappointed.

From today's game V Port:
Centre Clearances.. not much else to say there.
Starting well, and not giving in..
Just having a go.. and not just in the last quarter..

oh and for the stupid commentators.. STOP SAYING "UH OH" ****.

I know he went OK in the last quarter (when we had all the momentum), but is Patfull now too soft to play in the seniors? Just seems to pick and choose his time to go, and never seems to have fully regained his confidence after that broken jaw.

I might be a little hard on Patfull, but I think his spot is up for grabs if we want to take a real step forward, maybe Clarke can grab it based on ressies reports.

WTF?????????

I was going to keep the highlight package of Joel I've been working on to myself (my editing sucks) but keep an eye on Youtube for proof that Joelly is as tough as they come!

Of all the things you could have called out Patfull on is his 'softness'? Nah, not soft at all, hurt himself in the first 20 seconds but kept putting his body on the line all game.

Who were the clowns on here who earlier in the season thought we were in the same bracket of teams as the Bulldogs and Port? We'll probably finish with 10 wins to their 5.

Sorry, some really soft efforts today which, unfortunately, was not atypical, even though there were a few good, brave efforts as well - like I said, he seems to pick and choose a bit.

I'm not looking to delist him, but we need more from him if he is to remain a regular in the seniors.

Just my opinion....That's what this thread is for.

Yeah my bad Judge, forgot this was the vent thread, just the way you versed it as a question. PLAY ON!

Not at all, Judge is entitled to an opinion, however wrong it may be. It pays to pay attention to Patfull...or risk the dreaded PATFULLATION.

He does so many little things behind the camera you really have to be watching.

Hey Kezz, I love all of our guys and have done for the 20 years or so I've been a fanatical Bears/Lions supporter, so I don't like to publicly criticize any of them and it gives me no pleasure (in private watching on TV is another matter... Pearce's ears would have been burning today!).

Joel's had a good fortnight before today and finished well in the last quarter, so I look forward to him proving me wrong.

Almost three years ago on October 22, 2009 the Brisbane Lions announced a new logo for a new era.

I know this was the old administration but...

When you look in the eyes of our new lion it says we shouldn't be messed with and that's the message we want to give our AFL competitors.
21 wins in 66 games since the logo change means that our opponents have no problem messing with us. There are only two teams in the AFL who have not beaten us since the logo change, Port Adelaide and GWS.
(GWS shouldn't even count anyway!)

Also in those 21 wins, one of them was won wearing our heritage jumper, something the players can actually take pride in. Out of the 21 wins, only 5 of them finished in the Top 8 that year.

The Brisbane Lions AFC prides itself on its Mission Statement of being the most respected and innovative sporting club in Australia.
We've becoming a laughing stock ever since the logo and jumper change. The fact that people call it the "paddlepop Lion" just shows how much of a joke the logo is.

no longer fits with the fearless, determined and fresh outlook of our Club that is constantly looking to improve and evolve forward.
Going from second week finalists to bottom four in one season is not improving or evolving forward.

The new Lion looks fearless and incredibly striking and I'm sure many members and fans will love it outright. Those who are not immediately convinced will hopefully grow to love it in time as it still represents the same Lions players they follow on and off the field.
Okay, who here loves the paddle-pop outright?

Sorry for the negativity. This may belong in the vent thread.

Me.

As much as everyone disagrees. And before anyone gets on me for disrespecting the old Lion, remember that old Lion is permanently etched onto my left shoulder.

bump..

What the hell was Murray Davis thinking playing Close in defense on Ace. Give the bloke a fair crack of the whip Muzza.
Sack him I say, sack him.:D

Ohhh yes, we're a week away from real footy.

Are we venting because of Close or Ace in this scenario?

Nek minnut, B&F winner.

I like it as our logo, it's fresh and modern and lives up to that determined and fierce look.

However on our jumper it is absolutely abysmal. The awkwardly placed head on the body takes away any positives the design has. As I believe TheBrownDog described a few years ago when it was revealed; it looks like a confused/scared lion looking around for other animals while it attempts to back one out.

It looks atrocious on the guernsey, but as the logo, I have no issue with it - if anything, the fact that it is so poor on our jumper makes me resent it slightly as our logo. I believe many people wouldn't hate it so much if it was just our logo; the mentality seems to be it has to go altogether as a result of its woefulness on the guernsey.

I have come to Vent!!!!! Collingwood players are so arrogant. Jamie Elliot, Peter Yagmoor and Alan Toovey came to my school today... All is fine with until they insult the Lions. When I asked Jamie Elliot how he think Collingwood will go against Brisbane his reply was "Easy win, they are shit" When I went through our midfield and said we have a fairly good midfield his response was "Mmmmm Yep Moloney is Shit" my response was "Around a contested situation he will eat you alive" he had no response... I further added that Merrett has Cloke covered his response was "Merrett is a forward" . I hope Merrett takes his head off!!!!!

Peter Yagmoor seems like a nice bloke. He said he would like to go home if Collingwood dont give him opportunities.
