W.A.P. ..... Weak as pi$$.... Left just before 3/4 time..have never done that before and I've witnessed some shocking losses down here in Victoria. An absolute disgrace, couldn't buy a goal let alone kick one. No effort at all by the players bar Rocky and Beamer...
What should have started as a positive to 2013 has sent us backwards.... And to think some people had the Bullies finishing bottom three. Disgraceful performance

Likewise BeamStar...just back from the game and absolutely filthy with that pathetic and self-entitled effort from the majority of the team. Absolutely pissweak and to be honest, the only bright spot is that we now have 21 games to turn it around.

The effort and heart compared to two weeks ago could not be at polar opposites of the spectrum. Obviously the players believed the hype after that game and thought it was their god given right that they simply had to turn up win. Our boys would be well placed to take a leaf out of the Bulldogs players book in playing with desperation and hunger, because ours had none.

Additionally, and this is directed at the club. What a pissweak effort in not having the Lions Shop open today. And we wonder why we struggle financially.:rolleyes: Seriously, only having some smaller bloody members collection point in its place was absurd. As a result, my girlfriend and I had to contend with a very disappointed niece and nephew as a result.

Believe me, I saw it as an omen and said as much. What a shit day all round.:thumbsdown:

I'm concerned about the future.

I bloody ****ing hope we can still be more competitive against top teams and ****ing win more than 10 games + uspetting and beating peopl e around our range.

After almost losing in the NAB to GWS, I should have suspected that we were a team that has problems winning when we are heavy favourites away from home. We are not mature enough yet to carry that sort of expectation when we don't have the crowd on our side. Grow up quickly boys!

A very unconservative response.
 
Unfair to pin anything on one player but Ace...wtf? Turned it over on just about every possession, as did Hanley. Has a really bad habit of giving a pedestrian effort and not knowing what to do when he gets the ball.

Thought Green gave us something around the ball in the second half, mind you the game was just about over by then. Also might have been responsible for Goodes who towelled him.

Moloney, Redden Rockliff, Merrett (most of the time) and Yeo were all okay, everyone else took a giant shit on our expectations today.

Looked like a side that was tired and not prepared to do the hard contested things !! YOU GUYS are kidding yourselves if you think rockliffe and co where good he and Hanley get that much junk and uncontested footy its a joke very different nab scratch matches to the real games .Rich is along way off elite very one sided and easy to tag great kick but really needs to find some pace and a few tricks to get to that next level. Merrett and Patful today where by far the best for us you try playing down back and deep with the ball coming in that quickly time and time again it will show at the end of the season in the club f&b votes .Sorry to say but thats it for Browny might kick a few in the times we play a side that is having a downer,been a great player but it has caught up with him.

This is a vent thread. People should not be picked up for venting their frustration. There are other threads for a more a reasoned debate.

Season has just started Haso, whilst I agree that the pre-season hype was a let down today, there is well and truly enough time to not make the season a let down.

That matters more to me then a round 1 hiccup and a pre-season let down, heck maybe this is the kick in the bum we needed to not get ahead of ourselves.

I recognise all of that. This isn't really the thread for 'thinking it out' though.

Whilst absolutely gutted, like you said, there is another 21 games to right today's very big wrong.
 
Im super worried that today will set the tone for the season , how on earth could the team be so down for the first game
