Karnezis as sub pissed me off no end. He was one of our better players last week. Made no sense to me at all.

"Dumb Vossie" was in control this week. Fluffed it at the selection table by dropping Cornelius and not bringing McKeever into the side. Rewarded Ash McGrath's disgusting round one performance with another game today and McGrath really demonstrated the wisdom of that. Then you have the game day head scratchers and deer in the headlights stuff dished up today.

Rest assured, "Smart Vossie" might take charge this week, but if he doesn't, we will probably lose again. With Brown in terrible form, we might need "Brave Vossie" to step up soon.

Yeah, not disagreeing - it is crazy stuff. Black and Voss used to do a looping back handball but it would generally hit a target. It just comes down to working under pressure and hard work to elevate that pressure. Seem we can't do either at the moment. Not sure what is going on. We have done it in the past but so many players are off the boil at the moment.

Yes I know it's not about me, it's about the supporters waiting for the club to deliver as a group. We have seen how good we are so why can't the players deliver?

This is the vent thread, but let's get some perspective. Every year since I started following footy someone has finished first and someone last. The gap has got bigger seeing that there are now 50% more teams involved. Evereythings relative but in a competition designed to be equal, utopia is everyone wins 11 games. Save for Melbourne, at this stage everyother team in the Bottom 6 of last year (of which we were the king) has improved, the Saints are 0-2 but they've looked ok at times, and Carlton aside everyone else looks ok.

Conclusion it's going to be an even year and maintaining 13th might be a challenge.

He plays an extremely important role in the team. I'm not sure what that role is because he doesn't do much, but clearly he is getting games because of it. Thank you James for not doing anything, but still playing that important role.

Venting against the fixture....we were totally overrun in the last quarter. Essendon kicked the last 14 goals of their "match". Probably coincidental that Ess/Adel had 7 month breaks prior to their outings this afternoon/evening

My only vent at the moment is about our senior guys. You can criticise the under 25's all you want but at the end of the day, Brown, Adcock, McGrath, Patfull and Merrett were all disappointing today in my eyes. Quite simply need more from them. Much more.

I would've hoped that these guys would've rebounded the most after last week's tragedy, so to see them play as they did wasn't great at all.

Our improvement has to come from the younger guys, but it should be the experienced players setting the tone and contributing consistently.

Zorko tries to crash packs and throws himself at the footy, but our others mids are a bit "passive" to my liking. Karnezis is starting to do it lately but still evolving.

I was watching Port vs GWS yesterday, Toby Greene and Oli Wines (granted, just 2 games in but he is tremendous) were out there, taking opposition on and showing all that I would love to see in one of our midfield players. Wines took on a bump from big Jono Giles, flattened the ruckman, stood on top and rubbed face to ground. Boy has a white line fever in him.

I wish someone steamed through a Adelaide jumper at the next bounce after that punch was landed on Rocky.. accidental or not. I would've gladly given up a 50 just to show we don't put up with this shit.

The one's bolded need to seriously do better and are capable of. Brown should be better come some midfield dominance etc, Mcgrath is just seriously down on form and hopefully comes out of it soon and Merrett will look better once Adcock and Patfull return to last years form.

Perhaps their roles as defensive rebounders has changed but Adcock and Patfull are not offering enough offensively atm. Last season they would occasionally end up running the ball up the wings or through the middle, this year it looks like as soon as it's out of our defensive 50 that there job is done and it's up to others.

I'd rather than didnt happen Kezz. This should mostly be a safe zone for people to be able to say their piece without copping it.

Which is why I am staggered that Ryan Harwood cannot get a game and even more so that Voss seemed quite categorical that if Harwood was to play seniors, he certainly wouldn't be in the middle. From what I can gather from the outside, that is a very stubborn and disappointing approach by Voss when we are crying out for exactly this type of player.

I'm not calling for Voss's head, but if he continually plays senior guys whose form does not warrant senior selection at the expense of hardened guys like Harwood who from all reports is performing in the twos; then I'll be the first wanting him gone.

During the season will most teams lose against a good opposition by 20 points, absolutely. Will teams be beat when expected to win, most likely. We are 1 win outside the 8.

Maloney is a nasty piece of work and fits the bill perfectly. He has history with the Tribunal and has probably toned down the bad boy image exactly at a time we need it.
