How hard is it to train our defenders to disguise a deliberate out of bounds, rather than slapping it determinedly toward the line with no guile whatsoever?

My vent

1. The disgraceful decision to get rid of our premiership lion, alienating our Melb supporter base and nearly every Bris supporter...why change something that is perfect??? still not fixed

2. We do minimal blocking work off the ball to allow players like Rich etc time with the ball to use their deadly weapons...noticabale when Zorko started to do this last night

3. our skills are probably close to the worst in the league..when we have the ball we arent quick enough with the disposal (compare us to the pies last night)...in a game where 1-2% off is not good enough, it costs us every time

4. our structures like spreading when we have the ball are hopeless...noticeable against any of the good team we have played against

5. players getting a game when they shouldnt be there or played out of position...like Roger last week against tommahawk, or the persistence with Banfield

I played against Vossy back in school....he went to trinity college beenleigh...he was awesome on the field, helping us to win 3

I am not sure he is the best person to take us forward...i would give anything for Roosy to come and coach for us

Karny burning Merrett in the goal square said it all for me. The WORST thing you can do in any team sport is burn a team mate. Selfish & stupid. I'd have dragged him for the rest of the quarter to make a point.

Too many clumsy frees against, such as in the back. Not only are we second to the ball too often, but we also end up turning a contested situation into a free kick with sloppy tackles.

To be honest, I would regard tackling as being one of the more easily coachable skills that could be focused upon at training with the possibility of improvement in the short term. Then again, maybe we're one of the sides who thinks that "implied pressure" is better than actually laying a good tackle...

One of our most instinctive goalkickers on a team that struggles to score?

No thanks.

I think I nearly burst into a toddler-style sobfest so many times throughout the game it wasn't funny.

WHY was Raines put on Swan when he was doing a good job on Pendles and we were getting somewhere????????? WHY???????????????????????????????????????????

I need a lie down now :(

Seriously??? We were getting pumped until raines went on to swan. Was a good move that probably shouldve been done before the match

Or was it the other way around? I don't know, in the third quarter I think it was Raines started to run into some issues.

Either or, I wasn't happy with it.

No thanks on encouraging the glory boy attitude for mine. He had an unchecked team mate standing well clear in front of an open goal. He tried to pull off the acute angle snap under pressure instead. I was surprised Sauce didn't rip it up him. God knows I did.

1.Dropping the football when running with it
2.Taking a mark and hanballing it to a player so close that the man on the mark can tackle them.
3.Not working back off the mark far enough to actually dispose of the ball effectively, too many times our boys get 3-4 steps back and look kick the footy.
4.Ball watching instead of being involved in the contest
5.Merry go round selection, players are playing for themselves- not intentionally but for survival-resulting in no survival
6.A distinct lack of elite pace on our list
7.Burning Devon Smith and Toby Greene in this draft.

Actually we were favourites to take Toby Greene in the draft but GWS got annoyed that we took Longer and snatched Toby with pick 11. ;)

If we lose next week ...It's got to raise concerns around the AFL that their call to expand football in Queensland was 2 years too early....

Vented like a man repossessed.....didn't keep up the exorcist payments..:p

Longer showed enough last night to prove that he is an elite talent, 2 pure ruckman just doesn't work unless one of them is Nic Nat! Seems like we have overloaded on early draft picks in the ruck area!

Dunno, seems to be working.. a long termed injured ruck man gets the gig as coach..and passes his expertise on.. .. Keating to Beau.. Beau to Charmo...Charmo to Leuy..;)

Don't forget their dance partners in Spaanderman, Wood and Clark!

Throw in some early picks that we used on the likes of Brennan, Henderson and Mills and a clear big-man fetish is becoming apparent...

KILL THE BALL!!! :mad::mad::mad:

Opposition small forwards and midfielders must love the opportunity of scoring goals so easily against us. It seems as though most of our spoils still end up with the ball being alive and in an advantageous position to the opposition. Easy goals.

Conversely, we seem to have the ball swept away so easily from our forward line.

In the modern game players are instructed - read they will get dropped if they don't it - to handball to the player coming past/ through. The ball giver is not responsible that the receiver has a clear pathway.

It is the receiver who needs to be ahead of the play and not to call for it if he can't make a better option than his team mate who has the ball.

The other allied issue was players hand passing over the man on the mark or an opponent in general play - too many touches/ smothers by Collingwood players.

The real 'sin' would be to go back into our shells and not to try the 'run and gun' we so desperately need.

All the big games are back at the Gabba so come along to watch us get FLOGGED.

I went to see Blacks 300th game to wait deep into the 3rd quarter to SEE 1 god dam goal. I was like come on just 1 goal please for Black you don't have to you know win or look like it FGS.

Also I was surrounded by Geelong Ferals having a great time watching Tomahawk rip us a new one. And it was in a GOD dam rain storm.

I said it was the rain and we should be better in the dry cue the next 2 weeks to rub salt into the open wound.

And now omg here comes the GWS.
