Yes, you could be right, thought he looked quite emotional when asked what happened.....then again, he might have feared the response he'd get from Moody..

..either way, she has won at Ascot...I hope they retire her now, let her go out undefeated..

Aren't they doing the world tour of selected sprint races?......Possibly getting offers from world horse breeders.

It's been interesting to read about Caviars Brothers. Ibsen (stallion) racing out in Broome... Nathan Tinkler won the battle for Black Caviar's half-brother with an offer of $1,025,000 at the William Inglis Easter..The syndicate already own Moshe younger brother to Black Caviar

..and then there is the other brother, 'All to Hard".....has won 3 out of 5 starts.

As far as I know, all the dams foals have won races....that is a huge "plus" for the damline.

Moody said after the race that they will not travel with her again..

Amazing blood line...Didn't hear Moody say that they wouldn't travel her again, there you go..There are big $'s on offer from Japan & Dubai...On the ABC News he said "she'd have a Month in quarantine (rest) then back to Melbourne in time for the Spring Carnival...Then see how she pulled up after that.. to determine her future."

Fox sports had the Collingwood, West Coast game straight after so our game got the B-grade commentators (apart from Huddo).

Can't tell you at what point we saw him say it....saw so many quotes/interviews etc....we were up til 2.30, even then I was so keyed up, couldn't sleep!...was a helluva day!..

..a nana nap coming up very shortly me thinks!!;)

LOL, I'm a big fan of the nanna nap ... I wasn't questioning Moody hadn't said it... just I had heard it..

I do have a genuine gripe about yesterday, now that i think about it. I try not to complain about umpiring too much (I even conducted some analyses to defend them longitudinally) but in the short term it is hard to watch, and that 50 on Ash yesterday is a good example of a trend this year of frees going against us this year that could be seen as a bit soft. Using POBT's phrase "swings and roundabouts", we are definitely yet to see a distinct advantage this year from umpiring.

Maybe they are holding back by saving them until our possible September game versus the filth? :D

Is anyone in a position where they can find out if the Lions had the record for the fewest frees? I think they had 8. Not many teams would have had less than 8 in a match in the last 10 or so years.

SO annoyed.

Just found a great photo on AFLphotos for my avatar...only for a better one to be taken against the Dogs.

Geez.

Have just seen on Ch10 news that Moshe is standing at stud and is in big demand...(surprise, surprise!)

Not sure if "All to Hard" is an entire or not....he would be another one in demand and bring in the $$$..

Will turn out to be a wealthy bloodline from all angles, particularly when BC starts having her babies..

Just out of curiousity, how does Black Caviar feel about all of this?

She's such a beautiful animal, and she looks really friendly too.

The Ash McGrath fifty was rubbish, but Brown and Drummond (?) gave away pointless 50s that you wouldn't expect from experienced players.

I do wonder whether our experienced players really set the kind of example we would want them to sometimes.

Didn't rate Browny splitting the pack to bring the ball to ground for Ash's goal? Drummo's desperate diving smother?

I liked Dermie's assessment of the Brown 50m penalty. Smart professional foul and a fair price to pay to tell Brian Lake that the game isn't going to be played on his terms.

I do remember sitting and watching the GWS game and saying to my brother "wow, for a change we're actually getting the rub of the green here, and I'm happy to admit it!".

We won the free kick count 25 - 17 that day.

Pretty much agree with what you've said though, that feels like the only game, so may have just been an outlier.

I might go and have a look at the others...

Round 6 v Essendon: 18 - 14 (-4) [Rosebury, Fila, Grun]
Round 7 v Collingwood: 13 - 19 (-6) [Donlon, Kamolins, Armstrong]
Round 8 v GWS: 25 - 17 (+8) [McBurney, Ritchie, Armstrong]

Round 12 v Western Bulldogs: 15 - 8 (-7) [Wenn, Jeffery, Mitchell]

Fair to say we've had a bad run recently!

I got this all from the AFL site, not sure how accurate it is, because I could of sworn we had #17 (Schmitt) when we played the Kangaroos. I remember mouthing off at him the whole game...

Hopefully we can get more from McInerney and Ryan!

Just had a whinge to the umpies on Twitter. Hopefully it will get a look-in on It's Your Call.

I thought anything above the neck was out of bounds?

Are you referring to Merrett's coathanger at he end of the third? I got a bit fired up about that one.
