Are we in for a long season guys? Just thinking that all that buildup - Six months of training and hype that we were vsing the lowly bullies, nab cup victory to give us a boost of confidence may have destroyted all the confidence that the boys have had? it reminds me of richmond in round 1 2009, all that build up and hype and to suddenly be destroyed and finish near bottom last...



my main concern is how this would kill our memberships and crowds, its already bad enough and i just cant help but think how another disastrous season will make the gabba games feel so empty and the amount of losses we will be posting at every ****ing year.

It's annoying that we worked hard, built up some good momentum and we've pissed it all up the wall in the first game. We had a chance to really start well, put pressure on other teams, and we've undone all the hard work. We are now up against the wall at home next week, momentum lost. We need to get that back over the next few weeks before we hit that middle stretch of tough teams or the season could get ugly.

Only positive is, we didn't play anywhere near what we've been playing.

tbh I just think the boys were completely flat from everything, the build up, the excitement of becoming a powerhouse, maybe even a bit of complacency, time will tell whether or not we can overcome it but i believe we have the guys who can do it.

My only real vent is at our lousy kicking (if we had converted all of those shots in the first quarter....shoulda,woulda,coulda) and at some of the umpiring (nasty icky green snotballs).

That game absolutely should have been a win for the Lions and where ever we finish, it will be one less win than shoulda been. if wefinish on 44 points for the year, it shoulda been 48. We can't get those ****ing points back. we will now finish one maybe 2 places down the ladder than we shoulda because we just threw that one away. Just threw it away. A wasted ****ing opportunity that will change the end of the year for us. It wasn't just a game guys, you only get 22 regular games for points and we threw away a win. You can't make up for a loss because no matter what, that game will remain a loss for the rest of the year. Even if we win the next 10 games, come the end of the year there will be more teams ahead of us and that one means there will likely be an extra team further up the ladder.
