In a nutshell the turnovers from kicks missing targets is killing us. Same issue that has kept Richmond out of finals for years. In this era of keepings off, those teams that lack elite kicking players are well behind the pack.
Main offenders are Hanley, McGrath, Bewick and Adcock. I tore my hair out at Etihad last week as forward thrusts were repeatedly thwarted by not hitting targets. Some of our youngsters are shabby as well but I'm prepared to give them time to develop.

Lucky he didn't get to pissed off.

I am joking but jezz these sack the coach people are weak.
Dam instant gen Y I want a flag in 3 years.

Here I go.

Sack the whole Club !!!!! 3 Flags in a row was a **** weak effort.
We should be printing flags out like toliet paper each year dam it (for the childen, think of the children).

Relocate the team to Kings Island in the Bass Strait they need a team on the Island.
Call em the Lion Kings !!
The cold winds will harden them up.

Dropping PattyK & Lester while MsGrath & Polkinghorne still get a game. FFS, what gives? Patty starred through the NAB, was in the best in the round 1 embarrassment - so he gets 15 minutes as the sub, then dropped the next week. This is a young player that has the potential to be a game breaker. He makes things happen. Surely you jest.

Lester was played as out of position as anyone I have ever seen, yet he busted his guts & broke as even as his physique allowed him. Was not his fault we lost.

I do not rate Polkinghorne. Never have , never will. He is not good enough to be in a finals team anywhere, let alone a flag chance. On top of 1 goal out of his arse - and I was there - and half a dozen cameos each week he is untouchable.

I have long been a fan of Ash but he is nothing but a liability this year.

This week, agin a team as young as ours, is the perfect opportunity to show that games are given to those that earn them, but no, let's stick with the old cabal. Bullshit.

Have always taken the Patty homesick talk with a grain of salt, but if this is the straw that breaks the camel's back, I have no issue with him walking. So disappointed.

Absolutely spot on BuntonRules. Ash McGrath has had 14 disposals in two games, gets subbed off at 3/4 time after getting 6 touches in our last match and keeps his place in the team, while Lester gets set one of the toughest assignments for the day, tries his guts out, gets 19 disposals and is dropped. Voss once again demonstrates that he is one of the worst coaches I have ever seen when it comes to team selection.

There are three possibilities here:

1. Voss is stubborn and refuses admit that he could be wrong about players, so he will continually select players despite their lack of contribution to the team.

2. Voss is weak, preferring to take the soft option of dropping fringe / developing players after a loss rather than an underperforming "name player." This approach will eventually cost us players who walk becauase they should have been given a better run a weren't.

3. Both of the above.

Or 4 Voss is one member of the match committee, a committee set up to ensure that football operations were not all in Voss's hands, and the considered view of the selection panel was that these were the changes to make.

I personally think it is rubbish, but it is not purely Vossy's rubbish.

5. We're somehow not privy to all the information and the match committee is justified in making these changes.

Controversial, I know! How could we possibly not know everything from the outside looking in???

(I'm not saying I agree with the changes. I'm just saying that your selection of those options and the multitude of potential options that you left out shows that you're just disregarding anything that could possibly undermine or conflict with your argument.)

If there were other factors, e.g. injury or physical stress, why were these 2 players named as emergencies? There is no defence, IMO. Just a bad call, & poor policy. Never before have I been a public crtric - but this is just indefensible - again IMO.

People seem to consistently misunderstand the point of the Vent thread...

Yeah, I honestly thought we were in the match day thread.

Please ignore my post.

To keep in theme with the thread...

Sack the Board Mods!! under their leadership literacy skills have plummeted! :p;)

(seriously all good mate just playing )

I hardly ever vent but I am just gutted for Lester after his effort last week. GIven a really tough task. Battled his heart out. But dropped when others (from the prespective of a knaf) showed nowhere near the same passion for the jumper.

Maybe the veiw of the selectors on PattyK is that his body isnt up to a full game in heavy conditions. Maybe I dont know. A couple of blokes with big bodies dont seem to be up to it in any conditions.

End of rant.

Bewick is another constantly played out of position. He is a dominant half forward or pocket yet is posted down back or wherever and not allowed o play to his stregths. I see a direct correlation to his hurt factor and where he is on the ground.

Keep Green out of the middle and hunting from the pocket. Keep him fresh down there to strike when the opportunity comes rather than burning his petrol on the ball because other midfielders are not pulling their weight.
Peev's me, we need to be more disciplined with midfielders who aren't cutting the mustard and bring in understudies rather than playing others out of positiion to make up for shortfalls.
