I am ****ing sick of of the constant and unwarranted criticism that is levelled at my boy. Ever since 2010 people have been content to make Joel the scapegoat, and like the stupid cow I am I thought that was over in 2012.

How many times tonight did Joel mark that ball after our forwards turned it over?! If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have looked HALF as good in that last quarter!

I am seriously considering changing sections next year, enough is ****ing ENOUGH. Go stick yourself in a room and listen to the ****ing collingwood song on repeat, you ****wits.O

He played well, but there was several incidents that he made silly and small mistakes. In the heat of the moment everyone was angry when he was getting cleaned up, and dropping marks, poor handballs, etc. Wasn't his best game, wasn't his worst.

If I had my way the Paddlepop would be there for the rest of eternity, and for the last time, I am NOT less of a fan for liking the damned thing!

Probably will get carded for that one , but I'm annoyed at how many people I heard on the way back blaming the jumper and how many times people make blanket statements that "all the loyal fans" want it back. It's a piece of cloth, if the boys need some idol to play for when they should be playing for themselves, for each other and for the fans before anything else, then I am seriously disappointed.

Maybe if Joel could actually have been bothered to pick up Waite tonight criticism wouldn't be levelled at him.

Sure he took some marks and was ok in passages, but he is one of our senior players and more should be expected.

But c'mon, to be offended by criticism levelled at Joel after that effort is ridiculous.

I'm honestly staggered that you are actually offended by people criticising his game. Doesn't change the fact that he might be a nice guy or cute or whatever, but like every other player, he is accountable for his performance and IMO he was rubbish tonight.

1. Joel Patfull

Yup, we lost the game due to the match-up in Patfull on Waite. From the first mark, I just knew that it was going to be a long night for whoever was playing on Waite. As much as a change was needed to get Patfull off, there wasn't anyone else who was capable enough. Were we going to put Michael, in his first game, on a rampaging Waite? Of course not, but Patfull was very poor today. He's a determined bloke, he'll come back next week stronger.

It just shows how vulnerable a team can be when the defence is messed with. This gives Merrett some time to think about his actions. But thank god we have Clarke back next week.

Ok Kezz I have been in the "critical of Patfull" section tonight. I thought he had a poor game. I am more critical of why he was left down there all night, at some stage he could have done with a break. I remember the commentry of when Waite was off and they said he was then on Murphy . It didn't seem like the coaches gave him much of a hand tonight. I will make no further comment about Joel this week.

Lisle is an absolute hack! I really, really hope he gets dropped this week and doesn't ever get another game unless he changes his attitude. He is far too passive, and doesn't give much of an effort at all. He provides nothing up forward as he gets outmuscled by the likes of Gibbs & Bootsma, which is the most infuriating thing in the world, and completely unacceptable. He has no idea what he is doing in the ruck which is not his fault, he hasn't got much experience there, but he still doesn't give a freaking effort around the contest which is INEXCUSABLE.

You can see he clearly has talent, as in moments, he does things many guys his size cannot do. He also appears to work pretty hard around the ground. However, he is not nearly aggressive enough at this level to produce, he is soft, hates physical play & the contest. He's happy to just be a passenger in my opinion. Incredibly frustrating.

Gave us absolutely nothing tonight.

Okay I knew I was pushing it a bit with the dopey looking part... I just think it's ironic that his play imo is similar. He looks and acts like he doesn't care/ is overawed at this level.

Agree! His first qtr was strange, was playing so loose which is very unlike Joel, I had a feeling he might have been under instructions to play him that way??
