I think there's a fair few Lions fans who are more than just a little entitled. One of the toughest tasks in footy to take on Freo at Patersons at the moment, and we've just seen a half where we matched them in all areas but the scoreboard, yet there's so much complaining.

Hope for success, but we are still a young group in a rebuilding phase who are putting in a bloody good effort today, and surely deserve recognition for that.
 
The rebuilding argument cuts deep for quite a few considering we have been doing it for the past 5-7 years without results.

Appreciate your argument Patty, but we are in the business of winning and we simply don't do it, yet week after week, year after year, continuously hear the same old excuses, which to be honest, begin to wear thin.

We have kicked 4 goals in three quarters of footy. Not good enough.

Its not good enough to continuously praise poor performances and losses as Melbourne do.
 
Don't forget about how much we are in the red...

Really going to be a tough few years regarding revenue..and membership

We haven't been doing it with this group though. Is it frustrating that we still aren't winning? Of course it is. But that frustration isn't going to make a very young side all of a sudden one that wins regularly.

I'm pretty sure I haven't heard anyone praise a Melbourne performance for a long time either.

Obviously I want us to win every week but basic facts are that young groups just don't do it. Instead, they'll poach the occasional shock win, and if all goes wel be competitive at all other times. The group we put out there today is not really capable of more than what's happened, in my opinion.

Can't blame this group for the failures of a past group.

My vent is just that many fans see us play and see our inexperience week after week, yet then completely blow up when we don't go out and dominate again.

We have a talented list, and I believe it will click for them at some point over the next 12 months. If we're here in two years and still plodding along like this, then this group can be criticised for not developing as they should.

I'd seriously question the notion that we have a really talented list, especially considering the amount of holes we still have in our list, the most obvious being the absence of one up and coming power forward on our list.

Well if that's your belief, why the frustration when we don't win each weekend? Surely that would have to come from expectations not being met, but if you have no expectations of our group then I'm not sure why there'd be mass hysteria when we can't keep up with a top four side playing at home.

Not pointed at you btw, that's to everyone who blows up when we don't match it with the best teams in the comp each week.

Some losses this year have been unacceptable and void of any hope. Today was far from that.

Step one is probably to not play Freo, who IIRC have only have 12 goals or more kicked against them once this season.

Step two is keep getting games into Lisle, today proved that there is definitely something there to work with. Makes me believe that perhaps he's struggled being the secondary target as all the ball goes towards Brown, but relished being the one everyone looked for up forward. That's a vent. Why does Browny have to come back next week? Seriously would love to see Lisle have a few games as the main target.

Lilse showed a lot of promise, needs to be peservered with.

I remember Hanley kicking on his left a couple of times, hard pressed on the boundary line, and managing to hit the target too. But yeah, we have quite a few players who're incapable on non-preferred.

The frustration exists because we are better than today's performance and the amount of skill errors is testament to that. I didn't expect us to win, but then again, I was expecting a better performance from a host of players that have demonstrated that they are a damn sight better than what they produced today.

Sure I doubt the strength of our list moving forward, but I still rate our group, just not as highly as some.

I'd seriously question whether there has been any 'mass hysteria' following today's loss, but considering we have already beaten a top 4 side on their own deck, I think it is fair for anyone to be disappointed following today's effort, but hey that's just me.

Non-preferred? Kicking on their preferred side today was a struggle. The kicking today was atrocious and probably impacted heavily on the score. Not just kicking for goal (@ only 30% accuracy:mad:) but hitting targets around the ground. Kicking with no pressure and still not able to hit a 30metre pass meant we got less of the ball than we otherwise would have.

My choice of vent is regarding the ****ing trainers.

We for some reason choose to wear the red and yellow (makes orange) guernsey away so the AFL decide to kit the trainers in fluoro orange.

I feel when Rich kicked that ball to the trainer thinking it was a team mate was the turning point of the game. That along with the no holding-the-ball call which would have taken us 6 points behind at half time, which turned into a rebound goal to Freo.

Also one of the lions trainers gave away a free kick from the centre square that resulted in a goal. Not good enough.
 
Bloody Voss using myself and others posts here on bigfooty ,on how to orchestrate a way to give Rich an avenue to give himself a way to free himself up, by playing him behind the ball across halfback, and get himself away from the highly contested stoppages . Then not bloody thanking us. Poor form Voss, Poor form.

And the dickheads who umpire the games , fellas when a player has prior and gets tackled to only drop the ball is in my book an incorrect disposal . Why one week is different to the other is behond me, Imbisiles, morons.

Sill even wiith the hard tags it gives him a better dig at it than what he usually gets with a contested rabble on his back at the stoppages. ffs
Ps only through in the ffs because its the vent thread keep your shirt on ;)
