Angus sounds like he's about to cry or have a breakdown when he speaks. Can't stand listening to him.
Yeah, I have this lingering gut-feeling that when it finally all gets too much emotionally for AJ, he'll publicly transform into the hulk or some sort of corporate earth-demon.

Good to see the Vent is still open in the off season!

What on earth would the "W" in Gen W mean??

People on the interwebs who type loose when they mean lose.

Sorry my old man is showing.

I know (not no) what you mean.

I want to say that I am finding this coach drama all too much...two weeks or so ago ,we all hoped it would be Roos...too easy...now we have to wait to find out who the last two candidates standing are and to see who is selected...going on too long...I want the panel to hurry up...is that asking too much?

I am feeling home sick and can smell a 200K offer from collywobbles.

Nothing like mum's home cooking hey boys.

Harden up homesick kids and get a real job were the pay is 40 K for a full weeks work.
Home sick wimps.

Yeo is the final straw for me. I am absolutely fuming.

People spout the Gen Y line - I was born in Darwin. I moved to Noosa when I was 5. I moved to Perth when I was 9. I moved to Melbourne when I was 13 and opted to stay here when I was about to turn 18 and my mum was moving back to Perth. Parts of my family and whole groups of friends stayed behind each time I moved. I've managed to get through it; I've had a shit of a time in parts but I've never gone running back to my family, because as far as I was taught, getting what you want isn't ever meant to be easy. These players are just far too easily swayed, selfish and arrogant for their own good. I'd like to have a word to the managers getting in their ears as well. Let yourself have some bloody character building moments.

But in the end, this is really the board's doing. If we didn't look like an absolute basketcase there'd be reason to stay. Or at least someone to talk to who they're sure will be there in 2014.

I think I'm done with the Lions until 2014. Going to watch the finals, the Brownlow, have a cursory glance at the trade period and ignore the rest. I'm just livid at the moment.

At least the Australian cricket team is going to break my heart in far more predictable ways.

Geez Gen Y kids get seriously shitty when you wail on gen Y kids! :P

For what it's worth, when people discuss a Generation, they are observing trends. It doesn't mean the archetype accurately depicts every person born in those years.

I know, I know :p.

It was more an open letter that'll never be read to some of the Gen Y footballers in the league at the moment. I just needed to, well...vent ;)

Typical flippant Gen X response.

Spot on...I moved out of home at 16 and moved from Bundaberg to Longreach with now more then a half filled bag and a youth Allowance pending; returned to Mums house for a year In Brissie for a short time before packing up and moving to SA where I knew one person. Did I get homesick? Yes! but in life you need to write your own history. What uninspiring stories are these kids going to tell their grand kids? They will prob go home and mum will still have their room setup just as they left it...THEY MAKE ME SICK!!!

nearly every player at the moment is gen y. It is not a gen y thing but something sure stinks at the lions at the moment. I think we will still ok next year. But we are all pissed off... How can we keep more of our young players. We as supporters/members need to come together as a community to make this club more attractive as a destination. How can we foster a beter club so it doest happen again ever.

Yere but was you getting a regular game Balony_pony16 ? Yes I agree with you here. There would be that many kids around Australia, who would dream about playing AFL footy with any club.

can we have a suggestion/solution thread where people can post ideas to fix the rot. positives only

Some ideas
The main root of the problem is the Lions have no money.
Compare the spending to other clubs we are near to last.
I grew up in country NSW where there was no AFL even on the TV. I didnt get afl until I watched a game live. We need to tell everybody this. We need to tell all of our bosses tgis as well. The way we help the lions is to make more people come and watch. With the games like gelong etc they will love it like we do. Once more people like it the media and the businesses will follow. The corporate boxes and sponsorship in Brisbane is where the money is and we need to make it happen. With more money the Lions could be so much more.
