This coming from a Crows supporter who has suffered the loss of many key players to poachers in the last few years, and I don't blame anyone but the club and the players themselves.

Now imagine that AFL is the third most popular football code in South Australia and that all your players have to get in queue behind the Rugby League and Union players in town to make any third-party money off their status.

Also imagine that the third-tier status of AFL in your state means that the talent base of AFL standard footballers from South Australia is practically non-existent, meaning that 90 percent of your list are from interstate and subject to constant offers to return home each time they are out of contract.

Now imagine Adelaide is a truly beautiful place to live and has 3 or 4X times the population and no crazy football media.

I get where you're coming from, but you can't have clubs walking around with significantly more cap money than others, it's ridiculous.

I agree, as long as third-party payments are counted in the cap. Until then, an across the board hard cap is a handicap for the teams in the non-football states.

Even if we take third-party payments out of the mix, approx 90 percent of Brisbane's list is from interstate. Collingwood's list is closer to 30 percent from interstate. If you think that doesn't put additional pressure on Brisbane's salary cap, then you are kidding yourself.

You're in a thread called "The Vent Thread". This isn't the thread for reasoned discussion, this is a thread for complaining about the fact that we need a retention allowance because of the so many people leaving.

Just to name a few. We are hardly stacked with local talent.

I don't want to get into a petty argument here, I'm just saying that no club should have more room in their salary cap than any other.

I'm all for the financial assistance of the lions if it's required, and perhaps some sort of retention plan for younger players on the east coast, but not a salary cap disparity.

Surely you can agree with some of what I've said.

If you didnt want to come here for a petty argument, then why did u post in the Vent thread complaining about salary caps to us of all clubs?

This is against everything that the vent thread stands for

Scanners?

Yeah it is hey...

Remember when this came out on beta...(ha my mates parents went beta).

Thought the film was lame....compared to the Playboy vids his old man used to hire....

I have misjudged the discussion taking place here.

I will go quietly.

Please come again, may we interest you in any of our other fine threads, where an ability to construct a reasoned argument and slag off Adelaide as a city are considered particularly positive attributes. :)

Ha. I do love little old Adelaide, but we lack your theme parks, bikini women, vibrant nightlife, and tropicalness.

What do we have to do to put you in a great thread today! Take one for a test drive? Sure! We have a nice thread that is only contributed to by a little old lady on Sundays. Low miles, good condition, no trolls...

AFLQ is either unwilling or unable to supply enough umpires for suburban clubs. All suburban clubs must supply 1-2 umpires per game or forfeit the match.

Seriously? It's hard enough to get teams on the field, facilities for them, and supply all the support staff on the day (boundary umpires, goal umpires, timekeeper etc), let alone to supply their own field umpires... often by asking guys who want to play footy.. and have paid fees to play footy... to do AFLQs job for them. Piss poor.

Have not heard this directly but am hardly surprised after recent discussions I have had down here on the GC.

What level of clubs are we talking about here?

If there's one thing I loathe, it's distractions from venting.

I was actually quite satisfied with my vent. Was a good cathartic experience.

Theme parks lately are cells for bikers, bikini women are out as getting too much sun makes good looking girls leathery and old, vibrant night life got closed down when they let the gentry live in the inner city and complain about living in the inner city and it is far too hot most of the time to be anywhere bar the aircon.

Jesus Christ, the air conditioning at my work is farkking freezing. It's like an arctic blast coming out of that hole in the roof.

Well you've got no one but yourself to blame...
