How crazy is this. On the coach, Dunstall said he was talking to the GCS ceo. 7000 is the break even crowd figure at their home ground. Talk about us being the ugly duckling. Id bet it's more like 15000 at the gabba. Hell we have to pay for our players just to train on the bloody ground. GCS just have to pay the grounds man.

This might actually be my favourite post of all time. It mixes anger, humour, irrational ranting, asterisks and just a hint of pathos into one wild and wonderful post that says so much yet says nothing at all. Kudos matwt73.

They would, but they're taking out the middleman who no longer needs a cut. The Gabba Trust presumably pays the same or more to Stadiums Qld, which effectively means that the Lions and Bulls need to cover that payment as part of their payments to the Trust, along with covering any overheads that the Trust may have. Removing that middleman could easily save enough money to reduce the breakeven of a given game by 10,000 (hypothetically - I don't know the figures involved specifically, and I believe the Trust has other income sources, e.g. direct seat sales).

Gonna break the cycle and actually vent...

I understand the need to build hype, but after the off-season we had, drip feeding the signing announcements seems a bit cruel and unusual. A bit like a doctor dramatically revealing your blood test results slowly over the course of a week. Has the potential to blow up in the club's face if it underwhelms.

This is one time where I actually hope Hammo scoops the club.
