Our inability to at least win a quarter yet. We still haven't won one out of eight.

w/e, thats why said "think". Point is, l rekon we could play someone smaller for him, he doesnt seem to be doing a lot. Our lack of goal kickers means, imo, we should go with a hard gut-running player who kicks goals regularly.

I think papps has been unimpressive. He is there to not only lead but also to kick a goal or two. When was the last time he kicked a goal. ... Was it debut??
He is based at CHF. If a forward doesnt kick a goal, then that is poor.No he is not.

You have a very static understanding of football. He is based at CHF. If a forward doesnt kick a goal, then that is poor.
No he is not.
I would say Close was the true CHF today.
Why because l feel that our forwards and midfielders should be kicking goals and spreading the workload instead of relying on Brown. He doesnt need to be dominating but he needs to show something up forward and he hasnt shown anything, imo, since his debut game. Even Close has shown more. You have a very static understanding of football.
My point is that Paparone's role today wasn't 'solely' to kick goals. If he had kicked one or two, then he would have played better, but just because he didn't kick a goal today doesn't mean he didn't play his role. Check out the review thread and you'll see a couple of posters who outline his role and how he went about playing it.Why because l feel that our forwards and midfielders should be kicking goals and spreading the workload instead of relying on Brown. At the time of his drafting, Lions National Talent Manager Rob Kerr said: "He'll be a really good connector for us - connect the backline to the forward line. He's a young boy with lots of development. We think he's a boy with a lot of potential."

Has Close really only had 1 kick. Wow. I guess it is his defensive pressure and competetiveness l like and the fact he doesn't shirk a contest (lisle). Maybe, l have to be at the gam to see what everyone is talking about.http://www.lions.com.au/player-profile/marco-paparone
I know Rob Kerr doesn't know what he's talking about, but he did say this:
Close: 1 career kick.
Paparone: 5 career goals .. as an aforementioned linkup man.
A bit of love for Close on here in his first couple of games, and that is completely valid. Having a vent about the lack of goals from a guy who is considered a linkup guy ... well that makes me want to vent.
OMG! Must have been a computer glitch of some sort. I will download more RAM so it doesn't happen again! The perils of being mates with Chief and bagging Carlton constantly on the little mates only footy tipping comp Facebook group we have. Utter bastard. not so much a vent as a warning.

You'd be inclined to keep him in the side just to see him stick one.

Who knows what might have happened if he stuck that grab. That kind of thing is team lifting.
