Thinking about how long it might take us to make it to the finals again!

A bit highbrow for the Vent thread, but I looked up the stats of the number of times each team has made the finals in last 9 seasons (from the start of 2005):

- Collingwood, Geelong and Sydney 8 times
- Adelaide, Hawthorn and St. Kilda 6 times
- West Coast 5 times
- Carlton, Freo, North and Bulldogs 4 times
- Port 3 times
- Essendon and Melbourne 2 times
- Brisbane and Richmond once only
- (Gold Coast 0/3 and GWS 0/2)

'05 - '08 we were in contention for finals for most years until the last few rounds, and similar last year.

Since our 2002 GF against them, we've won the same number of premierships as them.

And on top of that, a lot of teams that played off and won grand finals e.g. West Coast and Sydney following our sustained period at the top, have bottomed out or missed the finals for a few years, only to return bigger and better and yet we are still floundering with realistically, no end in sight of actually making them again, not for at least the next 5 years. Some of the decision makers at this club, particularly the board, Angus and CEO's in Bowers and Holmes really do have blood on their hands at what they have done to our beloved club. Nothing but self-interest the lot of em.

"Nothing but self-interest" is a bit inaccurate. That implies that they are dodgy but nonetheless, competent.

The latter is highly questionable.
