yep same. I am in Perth. I rekin if there is another player exodus over the next year or so then l dunno. I wont be supporting the club if it continue to have exoduses and low wins as it has been for the last 8 years or so. Hopefully next year, we can get a good KPF and start rising.
Mute point.

Meh, I lived in London for a couple of years from the end of 2004-end of 2006 and if you were lucky you could get (maybe every second week) a semi-reliable low-quality audio stream over the web at 4:30 in the morning if NIRS were covering the game. Then I would watch the replay a few days later on the AFL website in a tiny, pixellated window that buffered every 90 seconds.

Would have killed for some of the online luxuries our supporters have access to today. And when all people at the office talked about was soccer, soccer, soccer, I would have desperately enjoyed some of the ribbings from Collingwood/Port/West Coast supporters that people whinge about, just to have a chat about footy.

Ultimately the distance didn't dilute my support or love for the club one bit. If you can't handle the bad times there is no pressure to stick around, but distance isn't a compelling factor if you're ridgy didge.

I'm just "venting" my opinion of this post as we speak. Will definitely require the full flush.

True... myself I wasnt suggesting my love for the club would lessen. Just that it gets hard supporting from SA compared to the demons. I sat through last weeks debacle in the Ports Members area until the players left the ground. Still had a alright day watching Robbo and Cutler Debut and Taylor play. Still heavily depressing when that was one of the few games I can get to live. acceptance to the clubs situation is the key to getting through these times and forgetting about the Great False Hope in the Raines types

You're a BBFFC supporter.

All Vics are dorks, I completely agree, but Fitzroy you gotta love.

Yeah I know why people support them. Ive just never felt connected to them. I liken it to if the Kangas went to the GC would you expect all GC supporters to suddenly give 2 rats arses about the Kangas past? Some will, and some wont ;)

Anyway time to move on, like I said not looking for an argument.

9:03 PM: Makes a passionate post calling Andrew Hamilton a "@&@!en knob".

9:49 PM: Cites Andrew Hamilton article as evidence to support controversial opinion.

Sorry Scuba... couldn't let that through to the keeper. ;)

I dont think you can blame people for not being as hardcore supporters as you. I rekon there will be a lot of supporters leaving this year with the very few wins we will have and if there is another exodus in a couple years due to these low wins then you will have to accept that the lions willl be in the shit for another 3 years, as well as the fat that Redden, rich etc will be a lot older by the time the new guys can ccompete at senior level. People will leave, but hopefully that doesnt happen and we can chalenge finals in the next year or 2.

I don't feel a connection either, and you're dead right, lots of Fitzroy folks probably don't care about the Brisbane Lions at all. But there are ones that do, and it was as a group that we were able to use some people power with the Board recently ... they also contribute in a good way to our membership and supporter base.

Because l like the future with these kids but if they all leave like last bunch then that will be another 2/3 years of no wins
So you are hanging around based on the fact you like the kids.

When you support a footy team you support them through thick and thin. Yes there are occasions when you question the direction but in the end if you move on you were never a supporter in the first place. You sound like you need to move on to me.

Agree... for this reason it doesnt bother me when people show passion for the fitzroy brand, and I do know it is a important part of our club. I just feel no connection at all to Fitzroy.

There's a difference though between not feeling a connection and showing disrespect.

Listen mate, l am assuming you are of the older generation. You have a narrow view of what being a supporter is, being a supporter doesnt meen you have to passionately love them and follow them through 10 years of shit. It means that you support them, thats it.
