I'm more irritated by the typical irony of us being in the frame to win the wooden spoon in a year without a clear lay down misere number one draftee.

Want to know why I think we'll avoid the wooden spoon?

Wright or McCartin or some KPF will utterly dominate the Champs, become the consensus number 1 pick, and go on to have a very good career comparable to Reiwoldt or Brown.

We'll finish 17th.

Well, let's take this up a notch. My vent is actually at the neutrality of some posts. What makes a man turn neutral? (One for the Futurama fans)

I would be one of those people the AFL would like to fully convert. I got some memberships when I saw some fight in the team under Voss. This is my 50 cents. I like AFL the sport but I do not like the way it is run (Lions board and Vlad fat man up top) or the tanking/loser culture draft pick rubbish.

I don't buy into this rebuild AFL thing and it puts me off the game.
I expect the best players on the park and a team that "wants" to win (throw in the weak *** board and coach its win of go home boys). The AFL system encourages tanking for some 18 year old kid messiah.

The Brisbane Broncos into a rebuild after they gave the *** to all those smelly older players for the fresh face teens.
The NRL brings in the magical draft were a 18 year old messiah will magically show up after you tank.

70-6 loss
44-0 loss
56- 12 loss
24- 16 loss
108- 0 loss (breaking records for being a pack of wimpy losers pretending to not tank)
- loss pending.

Please don't tell anyone the Broncos are playing the kids to get draft pick 1!

Key word "might". Please sign up for a membership and drive into town to pay for overpriced food and beer while the under 20's get stomped into the turf (week in week out)! I came back to watch AFL when Voss signed up and I saw some "fight" in the team.
If the team is not fighting to win (Ever week, every quarter) then why should I fight my way into town to fork out money to watch draft pick spud farming.

So a hard core AFL fan gets there mojo from pretending draft pick 1 will set the world on fire.
I prefer a team (board, coach and player group) that has some pride and self respect to go out and have a red hot go at winning week in and week out.

^^^ Pretty much agree. In theory, the best (whatever 18 x 22 is) available players in the land should be playing in the AFL each weekend; with the up and comers learning their trade in the lower leagues (or preferably, IMO, an AFL reserves competition).

With the salary cap AND the draft AND free agency, all teams should go into any season rating themselves *some* chance of competing well into September.
