Hopefully there could be. I think it would be unlikely though considering they have their own ground at Mineral Resources Park and the AFLW season will now fall in the summer.

Why wouldn't they just use Optus if they made a grand final? Lathlain would still be fine for the earlier finals, too.

Nah, AFLW is played in summer, and the WACA still has a cricket pitch. It would be more trouble than it's worth.

And how do the clubs replace the money they miss out on from their own bars, functions, etc? Plus pay for the cost of using the WACA?

Will never happen but I've sometimes thought a WA3 side would be best placed playing most of their games outside of Perth Stadium initially as a point of difference and I think the WACA done up to it's old specs would be ideal, but anyway.

The next stage of the WACA Ground Improvement Project (WGIP) will see the iconic light towers upgraded with new LED coloured lights, in a massive operation that requires the 17 metre high steel headframes to be taken down and transported off site.
