There's a hint in one of the S9 trailers regarding the whisperers. Rumor stated that they were supposed to be making a more prominent impact in the second 1/2 of season 9, but the whole whisperer storyline is disjointed (AFAIK) from the comic storyline.
It certainly will be disjointed then because I'm sure the alpha/anne character was lifted from the leader of the whisperers in the comics. I guess maybe they will keep Negans arc aligned then if they're definitely making an appearance. Could be, dare i say it, interesting!

I think I can see what happens based on comics but spoilers and whatnot.

I assumed the whisperers were the trash people because the alpha/anne character is pretty much the same?

The Whisperers do appear in the trailer for s9.

Right at the end of that trailer, you see a couple dive into a ditch.

You hear in the background "Where are they"?

I dont want to upset Chief, but I can reveal a little bit more without spoiling it if he gives me the blessing. The only person in here that can turn me into an instant walker lol.

I dont read comics but I have heard what they are all about.

I’ve always thought the show was better when the group is on the run, scavaging, surviving like the earlier seasons. Which why I liked the first 10-15 mins, but I don’t like when they are safely tucked away in a community playing Australian politics

I got to give the show credit, for 5-6 seasons its been unbelievably good.
My worry is that Fear seems to have slowed right down into disjointed, personal stories like TWD :(

The "storm" was as big a letdown as Trump's wall.

All i have to say is ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

They must be having a laugh if they think this s**t will last for 20 seasons.

The show keeps finding ways to have me nitpick everything most of the episodes. Even down to "oh man those perfect wood planks they're building with look like they just got a whole bunch of them from Bunnings".

Of course, TV show, suspense of belief and all that, but I suppose ideally enough would be happening that that stuff wouldn't be as noticeable. Wasn't the worse ep though, and good for priest-man seemingly getting his wick on fire.

Caught up with the last half of season 8 and the first two eps of season 9 the past few days and this show has lost all it’s legs.

With Andrew Lincoln leaving it really should end with the end of Rick as TWD has always been about him.

His character has been nothing but amazing.

I loved his acting from episode 1 to the episode when he took a bite out of a villians neck.

I can watch seasons 1-6 easily a few times. 7 and 8 was a downfall of the show. The entire story arc should have been one season, thats the problem as I see it in hindsight.

Hang in there when Rick leaves, there is a few spoilers I want to give but suffice to say the worst is yet to come.

Ok I am going to give my thoughts on what happens to Rick.

Everyone knows he is leaving the show in episode 5 so it isnt a spoiler. Its been announced worldwide.

I think he lives, I dont think they will kill him off. I also think the helicopter takes him away. For him to leave everyone, he is either badly injured and needs medical help from like a specialist or is told that a relative needs him and hence he makes the journey with Michonne and his kid.

Rick either dies or flies off into the sunset. Are the two scenarios that could play off here.

For the record, no one knows whats going on as it hasnt been released and they have kept this a secret.

They're replacing the actor. With a woman.

2nd episode was a lot better.

I came across this TV show by accident at a time in my life where it felt apocalyptic and sad. I think its one of the reasons I love this show so much, not only that, but there was no spoilers for me as well which I think is one of the reasons this show has lost its edge. By the time the next episode comes along, I know exactly whats going down.

Im going to be pretty sad after the 5th episode of this season.
