Funny I thought it was Bode we were missing :p

They would both be handy.

I know I'll get bagged for this but Ian Perrie is not good enough. Sure he competes blah blah blah, etc etc. but the facts are that he is just not good enough for what he is expected to do. Gets his hands on the ball often but only finishes the grab occassionally.

Nothing against the guy, hes just not capable of doing what the team requires. Our forward line is never going to improve while we rely so heavily on Perrie to do what he just cant. In a decent side he is a HFF at his very best. We have no choice but to bring in Kenny or throw Tippet (or Griffin) in to our forward line to play a key position.

I shall put my flack vest on and await your replys.

Agree that McGregor needs to come in, but Tippett is not ready for AFL yet. Sure in the long term there is potential for him to become something pretty special but he needs time in the SANFL (remember he's only played a handful of footy games full stop). Perrie played well, but it wasn't enough. I can see what you're saying, and I agree; Perrie isn't good enough to win us games off his own boot. He can bob up and kick a couple of goals but he isn't the saviour.

Fair enough Stiffy. Just really frustrates me seeing players out there who clearly aren’t 100% fit when there is at least one perfectly adequate replacement waiting in the wings. ;) :p

Pfieffer not playing SANFL is really a double whammy. A good hit out this weekend would have been much better for him than sitting on his bum watching the crows. If we are to pick Pfieffer next week to replace Burton he would have been much better off having a solid game for Norwood this week.

Bagged if you do bagged if you don't. Craig just can't win with some people

Last year he copped a bake for not leaving Maric out of the Magpies side so that he didn't have to front up against Freo the next day and play 2 games in 24 hours.

He leaves Pfeiffer out because one of the senior is questionable and them people complain that Pfeiffer played no football on the weekend. Can't have it both ways

I would rather we have him sit out and not play any football for a week than to front up and play 2 games in 24 hours.

Are you kidding? Pfeiffer playing with Norwood and the Crows on the same weekend? Heaven. :D

While normally I don't really care for Mcgregor, he's awfully slow and has subpar skills at this point he absolutely has to come back in. None of our current forward line is a natural contested mark and this coupled with bodey being out and welsh's injury means we have no one chasing in our forward line and the opposition clear it with the greatest of ease almost every time. If we bring in Mcgregor at the very least he is a good contested mark and if he just stays about 30-40 metres out and can take a few good marks, it's 3-4 times the ball doesn't get to ground and cleared by the opposition and 3-4 goals.

Welshy should be given another week to get fit, jericho can come in and from memory he's fairly quick so at the very least he could hopefully apply a bit of pressure. Probably a similar situation with burton, craigy has them fantastically drilled so pfeiffer won't disgrace himself if he comes in.

Other than that we just have to pray that no rutten, basset or mcleod gets injured or I can see things going downhill very fast.

And thats really the crux of it!!!

We have done a great job considering the hurdles but there comes a point where you just simply can't replace anymore players and if we are not at that point, we are bloody close to it.

And isn't it pathetic that people are once again to bag Burton. Yes he is struggling but FFS he is playing with seriously sore knees. He has a medial strain in one of his knees and the other one he had operated on during the PS. Its OK to say yeah let him rest up but who the hell do you bring in to replace him. Half fit Brett Burton is still a handy X factor to have in the forward line.

Before people start bagging a player, how about acknowliging the effort of him crossing the white line and taking one for the team because we are low on numbers. A shorter injury list would mean, Burton get to rehab his knee prorperly. With our injury list the bloke puts up his hand to give it a shot and player and despite his dodgy knees he still makes a real effort in trying to play through it.

That deserves some acknowledgment, not bagging

Agree completely. While I acknowledge that some like Welsh, Bock and the Birdman have been meh poor of late, no way would I bag them for their efforts. Dogga is another some here seem to want to bag, but I believe all of them are carrying niggles if not more. The young one hasn't been switched on all year. He didn't train with the main group for all pre season I understand. That should tell us something. If we had a fit group to pick from then of course they wouldn't be playing. Give them a break FFS.

The performance of Saturday night whilst disappointing, was understandable. You could see they were spent half way through the third quarter, but they kept persisting.
