Aside from great beer Tassie has also given us three tough as teak young footballers in the past three drafts. Coincidence or does Hughes trawl the Tassie waters a little deeper than most recruiters?

Anyone know how many Tassie kids were drafted this year?

I'm wondering if Wayne's strategy this year had a bit of "pick the best midfielder from WA and the best mid from Tassie", seeing as the best mids from Vic and SA were already gone by our picks.

I like the fact there's a bit of a taswegian slant to Hughesy's thinking - there's every chance a lot of the other recruiters get a bit sucked in to the vic/sa/wa focus, meaning there might be a steal or two to be had from the apple isle if you look carefully.

When does the Hawks sponsorship expire??? Surely we now have a bit more to offer the Tassie football loving public.

Have a feeling it was just renewed this offseason Kramer, after talk that the Tassie Government would put it out to tender.

In the end sadly the Tassie Government did what it does best and just took the easiest route

They breed em tough down here in Tassie ..Aaron joseph grew up playing on a gravel oval.

When the Blues came down and played the Hawks in a preseason game a while back ..the Blues supporters out numbered the Hawks supporters 2 to 1...it was enjoyable hearing the Hawks getting booed onto their home ground. ;)

That was a great day BM - 1st game of AFL I ever took my son too

Many of the Tassie kids are brought up playing footy nude in waist deep snow with just a large block of ice for a ball and snowmen for posts. They take cold showers to warm up after the game before heading home to their frozen lakes where dinner is usually cold road-kill or a type of local delicacy, mud sorbet. And yes, they consider themselves looky.

They were girls???

FMD, it's getting hard to tell down there, their beards are just as good as the mens now.

Bit of a worry when you're your own first cousin.

You absolute tool! I laughed like Tony Abbot's biographer. :D:thumbsu:
