The regular version of Season 29 is in the can now, who had the rub of the sim?

In the world of Sweet there are five types of weather: Muddy, Rainy, Warm, Cloudy, and Fine. Each of these conditions either augments or diminishes a Qooty player’s ability to accumulate statistics. So let’s have a look at how the teams of the Sweet FA fared across season 29.

Firstly, a peak behind the covers of Sweet; The match conditions are randomly generated from a set of 19 outcomes. Warm weather appears 9 out 19 times, Rainy and Cloudy appear 4 times respectively, and Muddy and Fine are the least common at 1 time each.

From the 102 matches in regular season 29 the following was observed:

Clearly it is more favourable to Qooty players to be playing under either Cloudy or Fine conditions if they want to obtain an absolute shed-load of stats. Conversely, Rainy and Muddy conditions consign everybody to back and forward pocket numbers. Looking back at S27; there was a decrease in games played under Warm conditions, Cloudy remained steady, and all other conditions increased. This resulted in 10 more match-ups played in shocking weather, which was unlucky for some.

So let’s look at how each team fared across the season:

The Warriors were the winners with 7 of their fixtures in favourable conditions with the Hawks second, obtaining 6 happy weekends. At the other end the Royals were shafted 7 times with the Furies and Gumbies each picking up 6 terrible Sundays.

Each condition creates a multiplier of the number of events in the sim, so if you take Warm to be the standard at 1, then Muddy, Rainy, Cloudy and Fine have multipliers of 0.65, 0.85, 1.15 and 1.25 respectively. Applying these to the season long fixture we create a special WeatherMod which can be used to easily compare players from different clubs. The league-wide WeatherMod for Season 29 is 99.75%.

And there you have it; the Warriors were well out in front for season 29's weather luck, followed by the Wonders and Demons. Conversely the Royals were completely shafted, with the Furies and Gumbies faring next worst.

It is also interesting to note that both the Bombers and Bears had perfectly symmetrical seasons resulting int a WeatherMod of exactly 100%.

It’s often warm in Vegas.

From Round 14:
Las Vegas weather week 14.png

Also, Las Vegas is forecast to reach 43°C today, which would equal the record maximum for May.

Have your committee representative raise it so we can waste another 8 pages there listening to Wayneo harp on about s**t.
To be fair to Wayne, he only dribbles when his fingers touch the keyboard.

Nice thread Agent93

Interesting to see which weather conditions favoured which teams performance wise. For example the Dragons got 3 Fine games, but did they win them all?

They won at least one of them by beating us in Rd6. We only had two players ton-up that round in what was the lowest DT scoring game in Fine weather.

This is the kind of content I live for!

Now, I might be able to add the weather to my stories.

Thank you!
