Raptors offensive team rebound

I'm seeing the end of the play by play in this Brooklyn Toronto game. It must have been one crazy finish.

I guess this gif probably sums it up :D

Hangtime NBA said:
A locker room is a sanctuary for the players on a professional team.
It is the primary space away from the court where they develop the chemistry and bonds that help them become even better than their collective talents.

Which brings us to what you are not going to find in the players’ locker room anymore.
And that would be scoresheets.
It’s common practice that after every game each player is provided a scoresheet. The sheet breaks down the individual players’ contributions as well as team totals.
That won’t be happening anymore in Toronto. Rudy Gay has put a stop to it.
Gay sees the scoresheets as an unnecessary barrier to team unity or even a temptation to be more focussed on what is best for the individual as opposed to what is best for the team.
“We’re not playing for stats,” Gay said.
Gay said there was no incident or no moment that pushed him toward this decision but as a leader on this team, he felt it was just something that was best for the team.
“I wanted to just nip it in the bud before it became an issue,” he said. “We come in here after losses, after wins and people are staring at those stat sheets, but that’s not what we’re about. We’re a team and the stat that matters is the W.”

Gay said there were no objections from his teammates when he delivered the news.
“No, none. It was pretty easy.”
What a clown.

The guy needs a top coach and some veteran leaders to put him in his place. They would have won had he let someone who could hit a shot have the ball (Lowry or DDR) rather than bricking to the tune of 25% on FGs.

Good win for you guys on the road minus Iggy and Bogut.

The jury might still be out on Mark Jackson as an X & O coach, but his motivational shtick is tres bien :thumbsu:

Foul who?

I had Warriors -2.5 and they let Thompson throw the ball away without fouling him right at the end.

If you can't defend the corners the Spurs will carve you up. Their offence looks mechanical atm. Just going through the motions.

I think he's spot on.
Toronto have been better this year than before, and in all reality stats mean SFA, especially straight after the game. Let the coaches do the numbers and advise the players of what needs to be done to improve or where theyre doing well.

He'll be happy shooting 25% every game if it means they win, and I respect that.

Also he hit a shot to send a game to overtime after having the worst shooting game this season.

While Gay's shooting has been disgusting this year, hes contributing to team success. If he was Kobe nobody would be batting an eyelid.

There was a piece on twitter today talking about the blazers who have their players iPads to use on the bench to show film and stats etc whilst Rudy has banned stat sheets in Toronto. Compare the teams records.

Rudy is nothing but a glorified chucker and I guarantee the first time Masai can trade him for more than a packet of crisps he will be gone (please be New York)

Compare the teams personel, and where they were last season.

What a silly comparison to make.

Hey guess what, Utah use stat sheets but where are they?

Using an ipad to show plays/film should be done by all teams. Don't lump that in the same basket as stats, which are largely irrelevant during the game. Showing someone what they did wrong on the previous play is 1000x more useful than knowing you've shot 3/10 for the game. Plus players know if theyre shooting well or not, and who on the opposition team is torching them. Find me a stat you think is relevant to know during the game that isnt readily available from the scoreboard.

Also a valid point. I couldn't find the tweet, so just paraphrased, it was more meant as a bit of a laugh. In not suggesting is the only factor, but it just highlights how one team will go the extra mile to prepare IMO.

There's more than one thing wrong with the raptors, Casey is hopeless, the roster is hideously balanced and defensively just ugh.

I appreciate rudy's point that the only stat that matters is the W, but banning stat sheets just seems weird. He should start by looking at his own shot chart of he wants to help the team

If he wasn't so badly overpaid and cursed with horrible shot selection (duh) then he'd actually be an asset on a good team.

His numbers defensively are really impressive - the fact he's a $%^^ liability on offense detracts from what he does do well.

Put him on a team like the Spurs and he'd be much more effective.

Thats the point, if he was playing well nobody would give it a 2nd glance.
Because he's shooting crap people reckon thats why he's thrown the stat sheet out the window.
Could it just be as simple as the team were concentrating too much on personal statistics and not enough on team, and Rudy, being an experienced player has taken action to allign the team's priorities?

I would ban stats sheets too if my teammates could see that I was shooting 25%
