Lol at the Kobe hate.

There have been far worse signings over the years. Far......far worse.

getting close to 40, coming off a really bad injury, hasn't played a minute of NBA this season. This has all the makings of another Amare deal where your franchise is f**ked until he is out of contract.

Surely you wait and see how he goes in the next few months before throwing 50mil at him.

Isn't Mike Woodson a defensive coach lol?

Don't even try to compare Amare and Kobe.

Fact is Amare was never that good, without Nash back in the day he would have just been another average PF.

Every signing is a risk isn't it? I'm not saying it was a good signing in terms of the money, but there have been far worse out there.

now thats just silly. Amare was a gun when healthy with or without Nash

Well they both hit things they shouldn't have

I think you might of missed my point, my intention isn't to compare the players more the situation.

Both on big money deals, both coming off serious injury, both on the wrong side of 30. 24 mil is a big chunk of the cap considering he hasn't played a game this season yet.

He should retire a Laker no doubt but they have gone way to early on this deal.

Comparing the situation isn't that relevant though. The Lakers are going to get more out of this than just 30 points a game, it was a business move, not just a basketball one. Another difference being that Kobe is one of the greatest players of all time and is probably worth some of the risk involved.

I agree with most of what you're saying though.
